This game makes me realize how much I love MineCraft.

Godmars2904913d ago

Thing is no matter how this reviews, weather or not it gets updated and fixed, its already making sales and making money.

Besides, do XBLI titles get updated?

palaeomerus4913d ago (Edited 4913d ago )

Yes they do. At least SOME do. I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MBIES 1N IT!!!1 has needed to download three updates since I bought it. Or at least that's what the 360 SAID it was doing.

Godmars2904913d ago

Except we're talking about someone who's blatantly ripped Minecraft and posted on Youtube to gloat about sales.

Guess its just a wait and see, but if the game is reviewing badly as it is what real incentive will he have to fix or improve things?

SixZeroFour4913d ago

they do if the developers want to...apparently mobs are coming next month for fortresscraft in an update

BabyTownFrolics4913d ago (Edited 4913d ago )

no where does it mention 1.5/10 in the video or the link to the original article. In fact the review is fairly positive.

This article got approved 22 minutes after it was submitted, how did this get approved when the score of 1.5/10 is not in the video or the link.

The game is not a flop, it sold 30,000 copies making it one of the best selling xbox live indie games.

http://twitter.com/Fortress...

the makers have made enough money to make chapter 2.

i understand that some folks see this as a minecraft ripoff and hope it fails, but that shouldnt make it ok to make up review scores when the original article had no such score.

Eiffel4913d ago (Edited 4913d ago )

I believe I "MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MBIES 1N IT!!!1" is the best selling indie game on XBL, it's sales are well into 500,000 - 600,000 copies sold. Making James Silva roughly $215,000 after Microsoft's 30 percent revenue fee. And it's only $1.

It could be the fastest selling, but not one of the best selling.

radphil4913d ago

At least "MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MBIES 1N IT!!!1" has some form of originality, but with FortressCraft, it's just pale in comparison to the actual thing.

BabyTownFrolics4913d ago

your right about it not being one of the best selling, its the biggest selling day-1 XBL Indie Game.

SixZeroFour4913d ago (Edited 4913d ago )

@radphil - I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MBIES 1N IT!!!1 was slightly original? it was a top down survival zombie game, not too much different than the other survival zombie games besides graphics and pov...the game was definitely fun, but not in the slightest original. in fact, im sure there were other top down survival shooter flash games on internet that featured other enemies besides zombies that were almost identical in gameplay sense

@eiffel - youre right, its the not the best seller, yet...its only been out for a little under a week, so we cant really tell if it will or will not be the all time best seller...apparently its passed the 30k mark, and at $3 bucks, its made 90k not including MS's cut (if they get any from the indie games, not too sure how all that stuff works out)

radphil4912d ago (Edited 4912d ago )

MrAnonymous, the term genre doesn't mean anything to you if that's the case.

Games follow behind a set formula, given with the genre of what it is. Hence why we categorize them on how their gameplay is.

It's weird.

I remember seeing another review by GamerSheep as well where it was fairly positive in tone but the score was like... 2/10, yet the videos never seem to show a score.
=x

Pedobear Rocks4913d ago

The score and commentary do not seem to go together here. Perhaps go back for another review in a month...if they truly sold 30k units they have some more money to drive development.

‘FortressCraft: Evolved’ now available on Steam

"FortressCraft: Evolved is now available on Steam for $5.99, game publisher Digital Tribe Games announced today via a press release obtained by Examiner.

With a series of gameplay improvements including TwitchTV integration and Build2Me, an interesting building feature that allows you to guide your cursor to and from a specific point you’d like to build, “FortressCraft: Evolved” appears to be a vast improvement over its 2011 indie hit predecessor."

FortressCraft Evolved - Building Excitement

"FortressCraft Evolved will be hitting Steam’s Early Access in December 2013. The original FortressCraft was released on the Xbox 360 in 2011 and became one of the best-selling Xbox downloadable games of all time. The newest version - FortressCraft Evolved - has been recreated from the ground up in Unity to produce a new, more powerful experience in creative world building. Having learned much from their Xbox Live Indie Game success, the developers at ProjectorGames are busy building excitement among the community who are creatively sharing their constructions with wild enthusiasm."

The game was pretty lame. I think the PC is far too saturated with quality voxel world building games for this to really go anywhere.
They may have a market for those who literally will buy nothing unless it releases on Steam though.

ElementX3950d ago

I love voxel games and I've backed many of them. Right now I have Minecraft (of course), Masterspace, Vox, Terasology, 7 Days to Die, Xenominer, TUG (The Untitled Game), Planet Explorers, Starmade, and other similar games like Craft the World, Timber and Stone, Stonehearth (backed), Terraria, Star Bound.... I love them! There's always room for games with different features
