TM3 is my favorite but I'll take what they bring out gladly. Fun times back in the day and great soundtracks

Never understood the like for the series. Not my bag but I know a lot of gamers are clamoring for a new game and liked the TV. Series
TM1 and 2 are time period classics. They were a bit rough, ugly, and grungy, but they felt right during the time period they were released and they scratched that early console “death match” itch before FPS games would completely swallow that market.
Many great memories with friends playing couch co-op and 1v1. Short, and quick-and-dirty gameplay that we returned to over and over. I’d buy a remake or proper remastering of the first two games day one.
I played those so much as I kid, I bought the Twisted Metal games that were on PSN as Playstation Classics, wow, they feel clunky by today's standards, they could really use the remake/remaster treatment.
Twisted Metal: Black is when the series really hit for me. I still love that game so much. It was kind of downhill for the series after that IMO. I'd love to see the series go back to its roots, but I don't hold out a lot of hope for David Jaffe coming back from where he is these days to oversee development of a competent sequel.
Black was the pinnacle in my opinion. I adored TM1 and TM2, for sure. But Black brought it to a whole new level of awesome.
Everyone knows Twisted Metal... I mean literally everyone! Whether it is simply a childhood classic for you, or one of the worst, mind-corrupting disgraces to entertainment you can think of, you've at least heard of this iconic title.

They need to get the enemy AI balance right. Thats what made 2 the best in the series. Black was abysmal in that dept.
You don't. Do sequels. If you've gotta reboot, might as well do a new IP. God of War is the only game I can say that did a successful reboot

I personally think they can leverage the roots of the series. The original TM in 1995 took place on Christmas Eve 2005, and it was the 10th contest in history. Why not “reboot” the franchise by making a prequel of sorts showing the origin story of the series and maybe linking all the future games in a brilliant way. Seems like such an obvious idea to leverage old with the new (kind of look how Doom 2016 did with its lore).

Even if it includes rape, who cares? My wife loves horror movies and the lifetime channel, both have rapes on a regular basis. I don't see fox news crying about that!
lol I think its the demented mind of the people watching the trailer, I saw Sweet Tooth with a machete going to kill a girl, how the hell do people get rape from that. And what kind of world is it that rape is hated and despised but murder is OK? Talk about double standards.
Me I don't care what they say or claim to have seen, I'm loving the look of this game and in the next week with all the new info coming out these idiots won't even be a blip on my radar anymore.
