OXM UK: "Homefront's widely-reported online bugs could not have been ironed out before release as they "only arose when tens of thousands of players started using the game simultaneously", according to Kaos Studios creative director David Votypka."
Alex & Mike talk Biomutant, a game from Experiment 101/THQ Nordiq you likely have not heard of. While the AAA side of the industry tends to homogenization and imitative, cinematic presentation, “AA” games remain creative and innovative in 2021. Drawing on inspirations as varied as Dark Souls, third person shooters & kung fu cinema, Biomutant is Ratchet & Clank on acid, developed by a team of 20 people.
Jack writes: "Back in March 2011, the first-person action shooter Homefront arrived on the Xbox 360 from THQ, along with a storm of publicity which included a really cool live-action trailer"
Remember THQ? They published such games as Avatar: The Last Airbender, Darksiders I & II, the Destroy All Humans series, Homefront, the Red Faction series, and Saint's Row 1-3. Almost as famous as their games were the THQ marketing stunts, including a Golden Wii.
What about the SP bugs? They made it more annoying to play through than it should.
Companion AI stuck in a loop or freezes in Mission 2 before entering bus depot twice. In mission 7 I got to the top of the ladder behind the two sentry towers and suddenly just fell through the map and died. Also in mission 7 when the choppers land in at the start and I run straight ahead and right into the building it takes forever to load wall and ground textures in the house.
Didn't really care for the MP, reminds me too much of BF and CoD. Going to trade it in for Crysis 2 or Motorstorm Apocalypse. Next time finish the game before shipping, and spare me the half arsed excuses THQ and Kaos...
Early frontrunner for Most Notorious Game of 2011?
they have used the "overwhelming demand" excusive too much and have taken too long shows bad developement or bad support via thq
