A role-playing game featuring user-created elements has been announced for Xbox Live.
Developed by Avatar Golf studio Barkers Crest, The Avatar Legends will allow players to use their Xbox Avatars in a ten-hour single-player story campaign.
As well as pre-set content, users will be able to create their own stories, quests and maps for other players to download over Xbox Live.
Dialogue trees, item and world names, NPC animations and travel locations can all be customised by the player.
Elsewhere, dedicated multiplayer arenas can be created with unique terrain, structures and enemy settings, and playable with up to six players online.
"I love action, adventure, stories, character leveling, quests and level designers," said creator Matt Davis. "This game is all of those rolled into one. I can't wait for everyone to get a chance to play it.
"Everyone who has had a chance to beta test the game is in love. I've poured my heart and soul into this project and I think it shows when you play it."
The Avatar Legends will be available for 400 Microsoft Points (£3.40 / $5) from the Xbox Live Indie games service later this month.

Noticed my copy of gta5 on Steam was already upgraded without me doing anything. How can you still play the legacy version?
In a world where Gambit thrived, Destiny 2’s seasons, storylines, and even its endgame might’ve revolved around PvEvP as a core foundation.
Destiny already has the pretty hyper 'raid' fixation and then they added legendary raid dungeons. Hyperfixating in PvEvP wouldn't work as well because you need a lot more than 2% of the userbase to keep that going unlike raids that are propped up by streamers who make running them their whole job. Most players don't play all the raids let alone run them over and over. And most who play PvP don't want structured PvE elements.
IGN : How does the new The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, released in 2025 for Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Steam, and PS5, compare to the original 2006 Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion released on Xbox 360, played via Xbox Series X/S Backwards Compatibility?
