Crysis: DX9 vs DX10 Graphics Comparison

Side by side graphics comparison of Crysis on DirectX 9 and DirectX 10. Which do you prefer?

it looks like "Very High" is restricted to DX10. Also almost the all the DX10 "extras" are kind of doable in DX9 but DX10 does it much more efficiently. That has been one of the main selling points of DX10.

MS says DX10 only works with Vista driver model but who knows its probably just more marketing BS. I just hope Crytek as promised makes Vista performance on par with XP when the game releases.

Crytek even said that DX10, as well as Epic, is possible on XP...MS, like you mentioned 1.2, just won't do it because then there is absolutely no reason to buy Vista...oh except for 3d flip...

it is annoying...but Crytek has used DX10 to the point where other developers are going to be taken to the cleaners when they don't deliver...only other game to possibly contend with Crysis visually is UT3, a game in which Rein said...from a technical standpoint...isn't as impressive as Crysis...and DX10 differences in UT3 are much less apparent...

that first pic with the water in DX10 is probably the most impressive video game screenshot of any type that I have ever seen in my life...I am curious to see how much of this engine could be done on consoles...Its already obvious that 360/PS3s could do much better than the lowest settings of the game (no light source/shadowing at all?)...but the amount of stuff going on with DX10 is absolutely mind blowing...congrats to anyone owning a rig that can run this beast...

It's a bit better, but i highly doubt I'd notice much difference at all in game.

although the game looks gorgeous, it has yet to prove whether its good enough to jump into directx 10. Performance wise xp is still all around better.

Crysis is doing a good job of showing that dx10 does make a diffrence as the colors do look a bit more natural compared to the dx9

DX9 looks great but DX10 definitely looks more polished. I'm actually pretty surprised how DX9 still looks really good. Considering this is the first game that has been made for DX10, it still has a ways to go.

there is very SLIGHT differences. however I would say the difference isn't justified. i was expecting a night and day difference. a xbox vs xbox360 difference. but no, it's more like xbox360 at 700p vs xbox 360 at 720p. hardly any difference. (and yes i know 700p doesn't exist)

Generally the only difference worth noticing at all is the lighting. The water effects may also be better, but i'd have to see video comparisons.
