evrfighter5197d ago

I'm with chak.

what's the point if you aren't gonna use =\

DeadlyFire5197d ago

They want to license it. Big bucks to earn in a run licensing the engine. Its not as licensed as Unreal Engine 3.0 just yet that is their goal to reach that level of saturation into the market with their CryEngine.

They have 4-5 gaming projects in the works I believe. Warface, Kingdoms, Crysis 2 expansion/DLC, Untitled project(From Crytek UK/Free Radical) Reveal soon I believe, Other Untitled Project yet to be mentioned. E3 2011?

KDubyah5197d ago (Edited 5197d ago )

Where in the world did you hear of all those projects? lol.
The only game I've heard of, that you listed, is Kingdoms ..
What is Warface? What is that supposed to be about, or on?
Is tehre any more information for that game (Warface) than Kingdoms?

DeadlyFire5193d ago (Edited 5193d ago )

Well its easy to find this stuff.

Warface is a MMOFPS project set for release in Korea. Basically a reinvention of Counter-Strike it seems. It looks awesome.

http://www.youtube.com/watc... <A grainy trailer. There is a better one on Youtube of better quality. Still mostly grainy videos though. No clear clean HD video just yet.
http://crytek.com/games <<Listed on Crytek games page.

Crytek UK/Free Radical's project.
http://www.eurogamer.net/ar... <<Talking to publishers about an FPS IP.

Crytek will reveal new project at E3. It is centered around Crytek UK I believe though.

During the talk with Develop, Crytek co-founder Avni Yerli revealed Crytek's plans for the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo that will take place during this summer in Los Angeles.

"I think at E3 this year – or just after – we are going to make a big announcement that I think people will be happy about."

The announcement will come from former Free Radical studio, now part of Crytek as Crytek UK.

What is Crytek UK's FPS? I don't know. Lots of rumors suggesting its Timesplitters 4. Crytek does own Timesplitters ip now. So you never know. Might be something different and new though or another popular surprise title.

There was also rumor of a PS3 Crytek project somewhere. Since X360 gets Kingdoms. I was thinking maybe its a possibility since they did say they support the PS3. Never know what is under wraps until its all unwrapped though. I assume if so it will be waiting in line while other games go through 2012/2013 cycle. Maybe a PS4 project by then. ha I doubt if exists would be announced any earlier than Mid 2012 at earliest.

There is also Crysis 2 DLC/Expansion pack to be coming.

Forged By Chaos puts the power of the CryEngine 3 to good use on the PC.

This was on the CryEngine 2 but it has been switched over to CE3.

MaxXAttaxX5197d ago

That didn't look too good...

SlxTeN5197d ago

Screenshots remind me of Alan Wake

KDubyah5197d ago (Edited 5197d ago )

Iduno know why you got disagrees?! I mean I know people have opinions..
But, just like you and many others I enjoyed Alan Wake, as well.

DrHouse5197d ago

Thats because its a recreation of a setting from Alan Wake.

wallis5197d ago

Frankly I'd kill for a decent open world to explore using this engine.

When I first bought crysis 2 I walked straight up to the nearest skyscraper, looked at the door, pressed 'E' and wept at the lost potential.

ApexHell5197d ago

i would like to see a fighting game using cry engine :D fully destructable faces :D

DF Direct: Crysis 4's uncertain future is a grim portend for the industry

Crysis 4 is "on hold" and Crytek is facing layoffs - so what does that mean for the company that was once Germany's biggest games dev + the industry as a whole?

I really want to see a Crysis 4 with all the ray-tracing & path-tracing effects. It would be a shame if they canceled the project. Maybe they could do a kickstarter?

DF
" Crysis is something of a tentpole game series for us at Digital Foundry, with a reputation for being an early adopter of graphics technologies that would later define entire generations of PC and console video games. That includes the likes of screen-space ambient occlusion, sub-surface scattering and ray-marched volumetric lighting, but you could write volumes about just how ground-breaking that first game was "

isarai126d ago

I really hope they come out and push the industry forward like they used to. I miss old crytek

PrinceOfAnger124d ago

They all look disappointed by this news especially Alex

JEECE124d ago

Pretty sad that the studio that gave us a monumental game like Crysis is now subsisting on microtransactions from a live service PVPVE game.

Crysis 4 put "on hold" as developer Crytek is next studio hit by layoffs

Crysis developer Crytek is the next studio hit by layoffs, as it announces it's set to lose an estimated 15 percent of its 400 employees.

RaidenBlack132d ago

Why'd the day start with such sad gaming news?
Absolutely disheartening.

Jingsing132d ago

Maybe putting The Power Rangers in Hunt Showdown will get you some money back. (sarcasm)

Kassanova07132d ago

I'm always rooting for Crytek.

P_Bomb132d ago

I’m rooting for Crysis. Hope they work it out.

Crytek Wanted Crysis To Be "Future-Proof"

According to Crytek CEO Cervat Yerli, "I want[ed] to make sure Crysis does not age, that [it] is future proofed, meaning that if I played it three years from now, it should look better than today." Yerli and the team designed Crysis' highest graphical settings for the PC hardware of 2010 and beyond.

While Crytek has officially announced Crysis 4 is in development, nothing new has surfaced. For now, gamers' only way to scratch that itch is to play the Crysis Remastered Trilogy available on PC and consoles.

OG 2007 Crysis (not the remastered weirdo), is & will forever be a legend amongst the PC community.

PrinceOfAnger155d ago

This video will always be impressive to me, even for years to come. Some things here are better than games we have today, OG crysis is the best version!

RaidenBlack155d ago

OG Crysis physics, man ... amazing! Thanks for the reminder!

PrinceOfAnger154d ago (Edited 154d ago )

Looks really nice with VR mod too

FinalFantasyFanatic154d ago

I'm still shocked that it looks as good as it does today, puts some modern games to shame.

Profchaos153d ago

I thought the remaster was fine tbh some rough edges at launch but after some patches it's decent

isarai154d ago

I mean the lighting and physics still hold up extremely well. I still revisit it from time to time.

RedDeadLB154d ago

That CPU performance thing is preventing it.

isarai153d ago

Yeah unfortunately Crystek's decision to bet on the linear progression of clock speed in CPUs was derailed by the unforseen shift towards multicore CPUs. It just wasn't built with that in mind because that wasn't even in the conversation at the moment

DivineHand125154d ago

I remember when I tried to play Crysis with my Intel Pentium Dual core E2200 @2.2GHz , 4GB ram and GeForce 9400gt. I was a kid back then and that was the best I could do. I would get about 15 to 20 fps. When I over clocked the CPU to 2.8GHz I would get about 40fps. The experience wasn't good at all and it was the only PC game I could not run back then unless and put the settings on low. At that point the game went from cutting edge graphics to PS2 graphics. To this day I haven't completed the OG Crysis. I was able to complete Crysis 2 and 3 after building a new PC when I got my first job.

HyperMoused154d ago

Never played it, worth a try you think?

Profchaos153d ago (Edited 153d ago )

Worth a try just because it's the only game that lets you pick up a turtle on the beach and throw it at enemy soldiers that should have been a back of the box feature.

But nah seriously unless you're nostalgic for it I'm not sure if it will hold up
