Fans prefer a new movie than rather a game.

Trroy4773d ago

...I think you're confusing your own wishes with those of everyone else.

We're getting both, and I'm glad for it.

mightyboot4773d ago (Edited 4773d ago )

Im not confused belive me because many LOTR fans dont even play videogames.

A 'LOTR War of the North' movie would be great.

arjman4773d ago (Edited 4773d ago )

Obviously you don't know any LOTR fan's then, I for one have been waiting for a middle earth RPG since I saw the movies and the settings...they're perfect!

Tommykrem4773d ago

Many LotR fans didn't even watch the movies. There were books you know, and I'm sure that a lot of fans have played the games. Maybe even more than those who actually read the books, who knows.

Anyway, this does look promising, but after Conquest I think it's fair to say that I'm not trusting anything ever again before the reviews are in and there's a playable demo available for download.

mightyboot4773d ago

Im just saying that movies are still more relevant than videogames in todays society.

Tommykrem4773d ago

@mightyboot
I'm sorry if I didn't interprete the central theme of your message to be the relevance of games contra movies in today's society. Which again is a theme I don't even see fitting that well in with the general subject here. :P I kid, but Jesus they're making a game, there will probably bee some LotR related movies down the line.

shaun mcwayne4773d ago

i doubt more people played the games than read the books, lotr is the second best selling book of all time.

Tommykrem4773d ago

@Shaun mcwayne
You're probably right there. The Lord of the Rings book has sold 150 million copies. Still, though who actually read the entire book and all its 10 page poems :P

No, I'm just kidding you're probably right.

We are getting two The Hobbit movies

tommyth3cat4773d ago

A more adult take on the books/movies in game form would be nice, so far I've liked what I've seen.

Toman854773d ago (Edited 4773d ago )

The best games from LOTR saga is: Battle For Middle Earth (1-2)(RTS), Third Age on Xbox/PS2/GC and LOTR Return Of The King is my favorites :)

Hope this one gets better than ConQuest :)

tunaks14773d ago (Edited 4773d ago )

Third Age Total War,
by the fans, for the fans.

Buried Gems In The History - 5 Underrated Games That Still Worth To Play

by Caspar Leblanc:
"When you first started playing Spec Ops: The Line , you might feel that it’s just another brainless third person shooter, and some parts are kind of boring, that’s what I thought as well, but I was really into shooter games so I finished it and I was totally impressed by its story, don’t worry not spoilers, If you want to know why this game is on the list, and you are interested in good stories, go play it and pay attention to the plot, you will agree my opinion afterwards."

The Saboteur was great, nice art style and such a good soundtrack. Hunted was cool but very flawed.

Alice the Madness Returns is still really cool for those who like the premise. The original Dead Space holds up well. Catherine has aged incredibly well. The Suda 51 games are all still great if you can dig quirkiness (Shadows of the damned, Lollipop Chainsaw, Killer is dead). There are lots more, many have had remasters already though.

NouveauBlanc2021d ago

Totally agree, Alice the Madness Returns was good, and Split Second mentioned in the article was not bad as well

LoveSpuds2021d ago

I always felt that Saboteur was under appreciated, I really did like that game a lot. It was a real shame when Pandemic got shut down.
