Will two free games mean the Xbox 360 outsells Wii and PS3 this Christmas?

Gamer Blorge writes: "After two consecutive price cuts in the last two months, Microsoft have now added two free games to the Xbox 360 Elite and Premium bundles. The games in question are Forza Motorsport 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance, the first being great, the second average at best. But will the inclusion of games make the Xbox 360 a much more desirable console over both the Nintendo Wii, and the Sony PS3 this holiday season?"

Spidey's spidey no family or mother is going to care if Friend or Foe is stellar or average. Just wanted to point that out.

This may come back to haunt to me later but I am gonna go out on a limb and say that even with this holiday pack PS3 will still outsell 360 this holiday season. And I am taling in terms of worldwide numbers.

for x360 EU and JAPAN are now lost grounds

I have seen the anticipation among the europeans after the announcements of 40gig ps3 and price reduction of 60 gig starter packs.

In NA too as soon as the 40 gig is laucnhed competition would be over. Things would have been very different had HALO 3 been any good.

This Christmas would also be won by PS3 let alone 2008 and succeeding years.

This x360 bundle is irrelevant as people (old ps2 owners) were just waiting for a price cut to get their hands on PS3 . Why woud i buy something when i had a ps1 and ps2 and when i know PS3 is far superior to x360.

ratchet and folklore are both coming out this OCTOBER ,2007

ps3 has starter packs featuring 2 games from awesome heavenly sword, resistance , motorstorm ----much better than Forza 2 and Marvel.

for MS this will not work. It is just over for them

As a gamestore employee im gonna say yeah it will bc thats the first thing people ask me when they buy a new system combine that with the release of Halo i think its safe to say

I think it's a good idea microsoft is changing strategy... It's obvious that by looking at the new PS3 $400 SKU that Microsoft and Sony need to make money and may not be able to continue their price drop war between them without hurting the consumer in the proccess...
They reach the point where they are having to remove features and hardware in order to give the impression of a price drop.
They should wait until the hardware production cost goes down before thinking about reducing price.. in the mean time changing their strategy to add value to the consoles is a good idea... for example giving 2 games is great...

Also, I don't think microsoft have to reduce the price of the xbox 360 to compete with the PS3. removing the assumption that the entire world care or want blu-ray... Sony removed one of the biggest advantages of the PS3 over the xbox 360... PS2 Game library... now the PS3 game library is very small if one compare the xbox 360 game library... If microsoft is able to market the xbox 360 as the best option as far as games are concern... they will do fine...

Let's see how it goes this XMass... You never know... one can't never completely understimate the Playstation brand recognition... and microsoft may be forced to drop the price on top of the 2 games...
but for now.. I think it's smart that they are playing the "wait and see" game. If Sony fails to push the PS3 even with a $400 SKU... then... it can be something they should start worring about.

Agreed, I doubt neither Sony nor Microsoft can afford another price drop. But it all depends whether people want Forza and Marvel ultimate alliance or not. I personally don't really like either game.

In other words I believe the sale will be based on whether the consumers would like the games or not.

It is also true right now the 360's price is at an ideal point right now and changing it would be unnecessary.
