Publishers have themselves to blame for Piracy

As many know, this year so far has seen many of our favorite titles being pirated and released to the torrent websites. It is unclear how these titles were intercepted or how they were obtained that led to their appearance on these piracy sites. We can speculate all day, though that doesn’t answer the question if piracy can be stopped.

I think the Somalians are to blame clearly. But seriously, it's not their fault. Stupid people who spend countless hours trying to find ways out of buying shit and whatnot are to blame. No approve

Corrwin5201d ago

It's the publishers fault cracks and leaks happen?

And yet when they impose draconian measures that prevent actual customers from playing the games they bought, I suppose that's our fault for complaining?

playing games for free is the best, long live piracy

Quagmire5201d ago

In a gaming industry full of overpriced DLC, online passes, short single players, buggy multiplayers, and yearly rehashes, I think Piracy is a good financial counter balance for the consumers.

I pirate certain PC games only so that i can afford ps3 games. Were I too actually spend money on PC games, how will I be able to pay for that and the many PS3 games out there?

AssassinHD5201d ago

Piracy cannot be justified. Period. Not having enough money to pay for games does not give you the right to pirate them. I can't afford a great many things, but I don't go out stealing them.

If you don't feel like a product is worth your money then you simply should not use it. If a game has overpriced DLC then don't buy it. If a game has buggy multiplayer or short single-player content then just don't buy it. You don't have the right to play it anyway without paying for it.

This article is awful. It reads like a 14 year old wrote it. Not trying to be mean, but I couldn't even get past the second paragraph.

We're talking about a limited edition item here, and by definition, those aren’t exactly 'needed'. But when you look at what’s included, the controller, the strap, and a few months of Game Pass, it actually turns out to be a surprisingly good deal.

What’s weird is that this is a VR headset branded with Xbox, a platform that doesn’t even support VR. And Xbox is part of Microsoft, a company that more or less walked away from all of its VR efforts. Yet somehow, this ends up being the best value available for a VR headset. If you're looking to get into VR, unless you're buying used, it’s hard to find anything that offers more for the price.

Nope, wasn't need, but It's another incentive to try GP, and retain increase or maintain subs.

It lends to the "Everything is an Xbox" marketing they have going on...if it has a screen, it's a Xbox.

I don't see the harm here, it's a limited item...shit MS and Sony have Sneaker deals as well, are those necessary? Nope, but if you like PS or Xbox, or are a collector of limited edition of stuff then, why not?
