Man Plays Portal 2 - Claims It To Be Valves Best Work And GOTY

A lucky individual recently got to sit down at Valve studios an have a play with Portal 2. In short he says

"Portal 2 is just mind-blowing, the story, the puzzles, everything is the best that Valve has ever made. Valve could sell this game at $100 a pop and I would still buy it, thats how good it is. And as for a demo, this game does not need one. Take it from me, Portal 2 GOTY 2011 no contest."

Definitely GOTY contender, but I can't believe for a second it has "no contest"... LBP2 says hi and this is just the 3rd month. Deus Ex, Skyrim, Mass Effect 3, Uncharted 3 and Gears of War 3 are still coming this year.

Can anyone tell me, if I link this game to my steam account from my friends psn account does every future game I play through ps3/steam need to be linked to that same psn account. Or can this be changed? Or do I have this all wrong?

that's a good question....

I gonna say you can change it. all you have to do is cancel your registration then make a new one with the corrected information. Steam will automatically find your games. Make sure you back up all info before deleting the old registration so you won't loose info saved in the cloud (servers). I don't know if you can have multiple Steam accounts pointing to one PSN account...are you sharing PS3 and or Internet with a friend? why don't you have your own account?

I'm only familiar with Steam PC but if i'm wrong (i doubt it) i'm sure someone will let me know in like 2 minutes. :)

GOTY my arse....its Portal. They probably upped the visals, added a few gameplay elements, and thats it. You guys do realize the amount of games coming out this year? Gears an Uncharted say hello how are you. You want third parties? Battlefield 3 says hello....hell even Duke Nukem can become a contender for certain reasons.

Valve fans are so annoying. Anything and everything Valve releases is god, and no one can compare to them period. Am I saying Portal 2 is gonna suck? No, but this whole conceided outlook on all their games turns me off.

Portal 2 will be a contender, dont say its GOTY until you played the other friggin contenders. End of story.

you seem to fail to realize what Gabe and Valve has done for gaming in correlation that Nintendo has done for gaming. both innovators, both pushing genre's and tech to where it hasnt been before.

as for Soldierone, have you played L4d1/2? have you seen how co-op has progressed because of the series? or acknowledge what HL1/2 did for the FPS genre in both storytelling, atmosphere and physics/facial animation in 1998/2004?

pushing genres. something you do not see in this generation of gaming. overhyped promises that do not see the light of day. like Molyuex with Fable, Crytek with Crysis 2, just to name a few.

Ummm there are TONS of companies that have done way more than Valve. What exactly has Valve done thats so incredible? nothing. Without ID creating Doom, Half Life wouldn't stand a chance and the list goes on.

You actually see Sony first parties, MS first parties, and even third parties like DICE with BF3 pushing the limits of hardware and bringing the game industry to new levels. Meanwhile Valve is still bragging about Half Life and a game COD throws in as a bonus....

Steam is alot better than it was, but thats not something mind blowing to me.

I mean they shove out a game here and there and milk the hell out of Steam, they are like gods! Whens the last time they have been "groundbreaking" honestly? Cus I dont remember anything beyond Counter Strike....Portal had a chance if it wasn't just a test dummy for Portal 2.

@Solar....really your gonna give L4D the props for team play? Do you have any idea how many games were there before? Or any idea how easy it is to create that? There is an indie game called Killing Floor for only 15 bucks that does the same thing.

Half Life created stories? Uhh no. It was boring as hell and lacks in todays enviroment of games. Last time I checked MGS was telling stories, and Medal of Honor has amazing stories for FPS titles too.

Also I do believe Epic can be thanks alot more than Valve. They pushed the boundries, but also allowed other companies to do so by using their engine. Gaming wouldnt be anything it is today without Unreal Engine. Source is nothing more than a few hacked up games that never go anywhere outside of Steam....

Again if Valve is so mind bending an out of this world pushing new boundries, what exactly have they done? Dont bother bringing up steam cus ill easily counter with Xbox Live and PSN, so bring up something original. Portal? meet Mirrors Edge...
