Sega Rally - PSP Review by Brash Games

Having recently re-found our love for all things PSP thanks to a somewhat impulsive PSP Go purchase, we have decided to go back and review a few of the classic games available on PlayStation Network based on today’s standards and , more importantly, today’s prices.

The first on the list is Sega and Bugbear Studio’s, Sega Rally.

Meet The Solo Dev Whose Sega Rally Tribute Could Become An Official Sequel

When the first footage of Over Jump Rally appeared online, it rightly caused quite a stir. Created using Unreal Engine 5, it offered a tantalizing glimpse of what a modern-day Sega Rally could look like, complete with super-realistic car models, breathtaking environments and – of course – the trademark Sega Blue Sky.

10 Classic Franchises Sega Need To Resurrect

Every gamer out there knows that successful franchises are the lifeblood of any big name publisher. One of the oldest and most innovative companies in existence, Sega knows that better than anyone. So that begs the question of why have Sega ignored so many other great franchises from their vast back catalogue?

Sega is right up there with the amount of original IPS as Sony. They were never afraid of doing something new. God bless em.

dead_pixels3036d ago

You're not kidding. In their prime they thrived on taking risky gambles and shaking things up. I miss having them in the console industry so much.

ninjazfistz3036d ago

Honestly the console industry isn't really as good as when SEGA was in it. That combination on Nintendo and SEGA was great. Now that Sony has shown dominance it's too small a pond for all 4 (Xbox). I like their approach on PC anyways. Live long!

LastCenturyRob3036d ago

@ ninjazfists... PS may be the dominate one right now but as gaming history has shown there are no guarantees that it will always be the case. Nintendo was always dominant when Sega was in the game, but Sega at times came close to gaining the upper hand. MS still sells tens of millions of consoles and the 360 was close to outselling the PS3... MS isn't going anywhere. With that, even if Sega doesn't ever make another console I think they owe it to themselves and fans of their franchises to push the envelope and bring them back in force.

Artemidorus3036d ago

Bring back some classic VR games

phoenixwing3036d ago

skies of arcadia mmo (in my dreams anyway)

Sega Saturn games in 4K resolution

Take a look how wonderful Sega Saturn is in 4K resolution.

Definitely cool. Probably not as cool as playing guardian heroes perfectly on my nexus 7 tablet with controller support.

But definitely cool. Actually make me want to pull the Saturn out of the closet just for kicks and reminisce.

Is the Yabause app stable on the Nexus 7?
Have you played other Saturn titles on it? I'd love to play Shining Force 3 on the go or even Shining the Holy Ark.

ApocalypseShadow3392d ago

You can. Hilarious about the disagrees. I have a Sega Saturn. But yes the game works in uoyabause.

ShinMaster3392d ago

Are you playing that at home? Or do you carry that controller around with you too? Does it fit in your pocket? Or do you use a bag/backpack. If so, then you might as well bring a competent laptop.

ApocalypseShadow3392d ago

I can play it anywhere.the controller is as big as a dualshock with Bluetooth support.lighter and packed in a small black bag.

Same as playing Mame, openbor, and every other emulator like Dreamcast on a tablet. When you see something like shenmue or powerstone working as if you're playing your Dreamcast,it blows your mind that it's even possible.

I don't have to bring out the hardware from the closet or lug around a computer.but what would you say is cooler?playing a game in 4k?or taking it on the go when it was thought to be impossible?

I think the latter.

Minute Man 7213393d ago

I'm sure the X1 and PS4 can run these games @ 4K. Make it happen Sega

demonddel3392d ago

Not sure about the X1 maybe the ps4 can run 2k but not 4k

BillytheBarbarian3393d ago

That's really nice. Especially the fighters megamix shots

gamejediben3393d ago

Just imagining Panzer Dragoon Saga in 4K is ruining my pants!!!

343_Guilty_Spark3393d ago (Edited 3393d ago )

So sad they lost the source code for Saga. And they will never remake the game smh...

DragoonsScaleLegends3393d ago

How do you loose the source code?

Fullmetalevolust3392d ago

I still have that game! It is amazing, I re-play it every year and it never gets old. The ambience, the story, the RPG elements, it is a brilliant game.
