The announcement of Crysis 2 not supporting DirectX 11 at launch was met with several criticism. A recent rumor on the web explains the reason for the delay in support.
would they do that
lol pc fanboys and their Conspiracy theory.
funny, because i bet you would be one of the first to claim MS have paid for exclusive rights console wise
lol console fanboys and their 5 year old junkie.
@NYC_Gamer HEADSHOTSSSSS! loool yes i agree I hate Micro because they destroy FFXIII and make it RPG game not FF RPG game
lol console fanboys and their fixed hardware
I can see why they would do it. If they show Crysis 2 on full settings for the first time on their card it will make it look better than all the rest which means more $$$$. At least, thats what I would do if I was the head of Nvidia.... Plus, Nvidia payed Crytek $2 mill. during development. That money couldn't have just gone to slapping an Nvidia logo on Crytek's game...
for $2mill yes it is for the logo. to have there logo which states "nvidia...the way its meant to be played" slapped all over the box and loading screen. meaning people see that and think ohh they must do good cards.......SOLD. its called marketing. and it isnt cheap but pays off.
they wouldnt. its bullshit. you think crytek would do a stupid thing like that for $2mill.
Note "that the DirectX 11 support will only work for GTX 580 and nothing else on the market" Am I missing something here my card supports DX11 its not a GTX 580, so Nvidia lying saying my card and many others that Support DX11 dont then. Dont think so, this is a bullshit article
must be BS because Nvidia are advertising the 560 as the card to buy to play Crysis 2
"Note that the DirectX 11 support will only work for GTX 580 and nothing else on the market." Where the f**k is the source on that?
that's bullsh*t, and a shotty marketing technique.
Thats not true and I don't even see how they can make that work. I mean, they would just get so much flak that no amount of money from Nvidia would compensate for loss of sales.
I know, its illegal to advertise a product that supports DX11 and cant play a game that has DX11, so what their saying if you have a GTX460 etc it wont play crysis 2 with DX11 total bullshit.
Rumors...sounds BS to me. Lets wait and see when the truth hits. Sounds like a Sarah Palin Speech to me. All BS.
F*ck nvidia us ati users get the shaft again.
I know. It sucks. At least some devs like DICE support ATI more...
b.s. it was done to keep the scrubs with emachines from flaming the forums about how thier monster badass pc only gets 20 frames per second(like the console version) notice only 3 settings, high which is actuaully = low very high=medium extreme=high this will all change, there will dx11 and a myriad of graphical sliders, they just don't want their sales [email protected] because some moron thinks he should be able to max out every game with a gtx450 crytek did this 100% on purpose think about all the retards who cried and flamed when crysis 1 launched "my 7600 won't run this game maxed out" btw, crysis 2 maxed dx9 in extrem(high) in 1080p, easily shits on every game ever made, except, maybe, maybe metro2033 in dx11
trying...so hard not to agree with you. But you are right on all accounts. +1
BS Crysis 1 is still several levels of awesome better looking than Crysis 2. DEAL WITH IT
Crysis 1 looks graphically worse than crysis 2. The textures look outdated.
"Note that the DirectX 11 support will only work for GTX 580" If this true I'll be pissed!! I sure it's not true though!
I would be happy! cause i have an 580 haha but it is stupid and a very bad way to handle competition to disable AA when AMD cards detected, thats just Nvidia being scared of AMD
This can't be true...why would eVGA package a GTX 560Ti like this? http://www.evga.com/product... Then again...you never know...
So I wonder dx10 cards are left out? that sucks for some people!
I do know that Nvidia signed a $2 Million dollar deal with Crytek/EA for the rights to promote the game. Also Nvidia is working on the DX11 enhancements with Crytek (which should have been completed before release). After reading some of the post, I just don't believe Nvidia would or can lock out DX11 and keep it exclusive to their cards. DX11 belongs to Microsoft and if Nvidia did do that some magical way....every developer would switch to OpenGL. Sure taking money from Nvidia for exclusive DX11 sounds great but AMD and Intel would strike back with the fury of a Zerg Rush. Sorry I won't give a website hits when they just make stuff up and that's why I didn't read it.
Cyrtek concentrated all their efforts on the consoles and though they could slip past the PC community by slapping higher res textures and slightly better lighting last minute then say they will dx11 later on.
