LA Noire Too Big for Xbox 360?

Team Bondi must have at least a few people working in their Ultimo, Sydney office, according to a tip Kotaku received over the weekend pointing to a blog with "exclusive" information on the title.

soo can someone tell me blu-ray is not needed for gaming even though devs are stating that it is???

Violater6044d ago

It's clearly a lie.
Would we be having this conversation if the 360 had games on HDdvd ?

Jandre026043d ago

So your saying the devs are lying for what reason? Isnt it the natural progression of games to be bigger and more complex, requiring more space?

And if the Xbox 360 used HD DVD we would...not be having this convo because they had more space. I really dont get it at all. Even an exclusive Xbox dev was complaining about space.

So no, its not CLEARLY a lie. Your CLEARLY in disbelief. The bigger more complex games are only possible on the PS3. They will make them that way. There will be more and more exclusives just because there is no other choice, unless people want to make a game worse than it should be just to please Xbox fans. I doubt that will continue much longer though.

i live in australia , in sydney , near parramatta , and i swear i have never heard of this group or anyone that belongs to TEAM BONDI.
BONDI is a place where there is a beach and not much else going on.
i go for a swim now and then at bondi beach.
what the hell is a no-name group of so called developers doing a gta type game based on "accurate real life historical events of l.a. in 1947"
i will give you a hint-"if you dont live in l.a. and never saw 1947 how can you be accurate" .they havent even made a ngage game.
this is just a no-frills group of developers wanting to get known.
also i reckon release date is 2030.
what a joke

ip-student6043d ago (Edited 6043d ago )

For games with a lot of cut scenes it may be that you need more space - but I think procedural generation and compression can get most games to fit on a single DVD. What MS needs to do is allow the HDD to be mandatory for all games so a cache similar to what is used in PCs is available to reduce the storage issues and improve the speed.

By the way - to say you cannot do a game on XBOX 360 is silly - you would just have to ship with multiple discs. So this statement isn't very credible. You could say "we couldn't do the game as we plan to do it on a single disc" and I would believe that but a general statement - I call BS. Even for sandbox games - you just have to have more procedural generation.

ReBurn6043d ago

I'm sure that unless some effort is made many PS3 games would be too big for the 360. I'm glad that I have a PS3 and I'm glad that I won't have to miss out on great games. But I can't quite make up my mind whether developers are going to make better games or not due to the storage capacity that they get with Blu-Ray. Does removing limits foster or hinder innovation?

radzy6043d ago

a couple of months ago microsoft announced that it is now ok to use the xbox 360 hard drive for data, so there should be no problem with excuses for disc space,

also TEAM BONDI didnt make rugby league 2, sidhe interactive from new zealand developed that disaster project

secret6043d ago (Edited 6043d ago )

The dividing line has been drawn. Everything to the left of that line is the xbox360 and xbox360 multiports. Everything to the right of that line is the PS3 and the loyal PS3 developers like Insomniac games.

The following link is a Grand Turismo5 versus Real-life comparison quiz. Let's see how you do. Take the quiz and see the power of the PS3 rather than the smoke & mirrors of the xbox360. PS3 fans, you might want to try for yourself...enjoy the true next gen experience on the utlimate home theater console -- the PS3.

Power of Green, you can take the quiz if you want, but you might get hurt when you see how good the PS3 really is from this quiz. I suggest you don't take it. I don't know how old you are, but I feel concern for you for some reason. In your other posts, you seem hurt.

Unless you got all 14 answers on this quiz correct on the first try with 100% certainty, with absolutely no doubt at all while you were taking the exam, I don't think you should click disagree. Clicking disagree without passing this test in flying colors shows (hopefully to yourself) that you're untrustworthy, pigheaded, and easily amazed by microsoft's smoke and mirrors. You know who you are. Thank you. Now take the quiz.

It is not "needed" it just means you have to use more than one disc. Something NO ONE has ever complained about before. Did having two discs ever make a Resident Evil game any less fun? No.

So there, it is not needed. It just saves you from having to change a disc out ONCE during a game.

VirusE6043d ago

Secret I got them all right the first time do I get a cookie? Those are some sick graphics and I think anyone with a brain could agree but what does any of that have to do with bluray or the enjoyment level of a game? Good graphics don’t make a good game, just ask lair. Sony isn’t lacking in games with good graphics it is lacking good games that are exclusive. It's a solid system and I love my ps3 but it is still rather young in its life.

Think beyond; stop being a mindless corporate slave and play games.

mentalboy116043d ago

i think thats more because we didn't really have a choice, seriously. you keep thinking "but what about before? we never complained about more than 1 disc before" but this is different, back then when we had CDs, there was no other way to store data except in cartridges which the PS1 did not use and nothing used DVD yet. in the PS2/XBOX era we only had DVDs and CDs, thats it. so all the games used DVDs unless you wanted to put your games on CDs instead making it even worse, but this era, the next gen era its different. While one uses DVD, there is a choice to go even bigger to blu ray, we arent being held back by technology any longer, so if you're going to use that argument that we didnt complain before, it was because our technology wasn't advanced enough and now look, we are only using 25 gigs for blu ray now and we can even go up to 100 gigs now while DVD is stuck at 9 gigs.

BrianC62346043d ago

Blu-ray/HD DVD is going to be like DVD was the last generation. And CD was the generation before. It will allow developers to make games even bigger and better looking and sounding. You'll see how important it is in one more year. The 360 will be nearing its end by then. All the games will look outdated next to PS3 games.

Expy6043d ago

Actually yes, because it's still less storage than BRD.

MRMagoo1236043d ago

well radzy team bondi work for rockstar so i kinda expect them to know a little bout GTA style games and i dont care if your from sydney ive heard of them and im from QLD

marionz6043d ago

anyone that trusts this BS site for their gameing news is truely sad

secret6043d ago (Edited 6043d ago )

xbots are unintelligent. They can't do math. Why's 3x5 and 5x3 the same? What's your grade point average? How much money do you have?

Microsoft smoke & mirrors make them think that Halo is in hi-definition.

Microsoft smoke & mirrors make them think that DVD-9 is a hi-definition format. If that's the case, then why do you need HD-DVD and Bluray discs?

Microsoft smoke & mirrors make xbots think that their console is the least expensive.

Microsoft smoke & mirrors make xbots think that their console is of high quality.

Overall, xbots are dumb people. What's the stereotype about gamers?? The stereotype is that gamers are xbots. How many xbots are multimillionaires? Raise your hand. How many xbots are valeditorians? Raise your hands.

Really? Why is 3x5 and 5x3 the same?

Don't listen to the advise of xbots when they suggest you buy an xbox360. They're not intelligent enough to give advise. Look at their comments. Look at their Grand Point Averages. Look at the neighborhood they live in. Look at their choice in spending money on consoles. Most likely, if you listen to the advise of poor and dumb people, you'll only end up poor and dumb like the xbots. Learn what NOT TO DO from the xbots.

a monster hit, it looks really fresh and new but with the same rockstar genius. It looks a bit more serious, reflecting rockstars maturing nature like with GTA 4 and games such as manhunt. Can't wait for L.A. NOIRE WOO!

VirusE6043d ago

Nasim you are so brain washed that sony could crap on a stick and you would worship it. Even if a game for the ps3 had a metacritic score of 10 and no other ps 3 owner bought it you would still worship it and say it was better than anything the 360 had. Your parents must be real proud about your inability to think for yourself. I am honestly starting to wonder if you work for sony.

Panthers6043d ago

ha its true, but i dont even think a sony exec would say the stupid things he does.

either way, this game looks amazing and I wish it was here sooner.

THE TERMINATOR6044d ago (Edited 6044d ago )

As time goes on more games will become Ps3 exclusives for this sole reason, and dont come up with multiple DVD BS this game is probably an open world type game and that just simply wouldnt work.

sonarus6044d ago

haha halo640p you ppl have way to many emails. To really push the envelope of next gen gaming blu ray discs will get embraced more and more

MRMagoo1236043d ago

thats right halo640p how on earth would u change discs while playing and open world game dvds arent the way xbox should of went its MS Fault all u xbox owners wont get next gen gaming just buy a ps3

YoMeViet6044d ago

So I'm guessing PC and PS3 only then.
OR 5-6 Disk game for the 360.

Meus Renaissance6044d ago

Companies creating PS3 titles will say it is needed. Companies working for 360 titles say it is not needed. Is this not what we've come to expect?

Besides I consider storage not an issue. Heavenly Sword could have gone onto a 50GB disc because of the sound and yet that game is incredibly short; yet incredibly enchanting. I long assumed that more data would mean longer and better games and so far we have yet to see such a combination and I don't expect to see it anytime soon considering how 10 hours is the figure for most next-gen games. Apparently, they're just too expensive and take too long to make them longer.

But this argument is irrelevant as the consoles are now matched in price. Just get whatever one has the games you want to play.

Meus Renaissance6044d ago (Edited 6044d ago )

Relatively speaking, there is little to no price gap considering their value especially considering the price gap was used to justify Blu-Ray, not only as a Movie player, but as a critical aspect for gaming. Justification is no longer needed.

In the UK, the Elite is £299 although bundles show that get a game with that for £315. Also a PS3 with two games is £349. Price is relatively matched.

The Wood6044d ago

it also plays blu ray movies without the extra cost of a hddvd and wireless

SL1M DADDY6044d ago

This information is from a developer that develops now for all platforms. Why would the discredit themselves with false information when it could possibly hurt them in future sales? My guess is that they gave up the exclusivity to Sony for GTA4 only to get into a real platform that enables them to do what their artistic abilities are fully capable of and DVD9 was not going to enable them to do this.

InMyOpinion6044d ago

As long as the 360 is capable of games like Mass Effect I'm more than satisfied =)

Let's hope Rockstar takes advantage of BluRay.

xhi46043d ago

has any 3rd party developer said DVD9 is fine for this generation? Name one 3rd party developer that have stated DVD9 is fine for next gen games.

Okay PS1 went from cd's to the PS2 which had DVD's, do you really think that employing last generation technology such as DVD9 can keep up speed in the next 10 years? Say HD-DVD or Blu-Ray wins....well okay say Blu-ray wins for example.....the ps3 will leave all others behind. Because think about this logically, if Blu-Ray becomes what DVD is today, are you really going to spend money on a Blu-Ray player AND a 360, or just buy a ps3 that has a blu ray player?

L.A. Noire And Bully — Rockstar's Lost Gems That Deserve A Sequel As Much As GTA

Hanzala from eXputer: "I do appreciate GTA 6, Rockstar, but if I could trade it for a new L.A. Noire or a Bully game, I'd do so in a heartbeat."

Skuletor18d ago

How are they lost? You can get L.A. Noire on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch and Bully is on the PS5 and Xbox Series too.

Psychonaut8518d ago

I want a new Manhunt game. But that will never happen.

Demetrius18d ago

Mfs are too sensitive nowadays and would cry instead of being concerned bout real world problems

Demetrius18d ago

Whenever gta 6 launch we won't be getting another rockstar title for another 10 years lol but on the positive side they bou to come back n show how open world supposed to be done 🔥

Skuletor18d ago

I won't expect any singleplayer DLC like IV's The Lost & Damned or The Ballad of Gay Tony after it launches either

12 Years Later, L.A. Noire is Still an Excellent Experience

There was a lot to love about Rockstar and Team Bondi's 2011 open world title.

One I never finished. I've been looking at the ps4 version off Amazon the last few months just never bit

Knightofelemia123d ago

It's worth playing LA Noire is one of my favorite Rockstar games. But I would also check out pawnshops or thrift stores if you want the game dirt cheap. Someone may have been dumb enough to dump the game.

andy85123d ago

Baffles me when people have these opinions about acclaimed games 😂

RhinoGamer88124d ago

100% agree... not perfect, but an engaging/refreshing experience.

sagapo124d ago

Agree, at time of release those facial expressions were amazing! They still hold strong even today imo.
The game on its own was good. Something fresh, but sidequests were a bit meh after a while.

Nacho_Z124d ago

I picked it up on sale recently, going to play it next summer. I'll get more out of it this time, first time around I treated the open world like it was GTA and goofed about, whereas now I'll play it with more respect. RDR2 has trained me well.

I also hadn't read Raymond Chandler at the time so presumably that'll add another layer of enjoyment too.

1nsomniac124d ago (Edited 124d ago )

Absolutely stunning game. So underrated. Played through it again last year and it still stands up so well. Like many of rockstars games it’s actually a far better experience on PC. I didn’t enjoy it as much on console. Completed it at least 3 times on pc.

The rumours of a sequel are awesome news despite the fact I think Rockstar are now the shell of the company they once were.

SyntheticForm123d ago

Team Bondi made a hell of a game.

Six Best Historically Accurate Games

GF365: "Out of the many historically accurate games out there, these are our picks for the six best games that are historically accurate. While these games aren't completely accurate, they depict the times and situations of history well. Plus, they're all a lot of fun to play, too."

Historically accurate from the past is tough to truly know and judge especially the farther you go back because history is written from the people in power and doesn’t mean it’s the truth just the narrative they wanted to tell.

I don’t care about historically accurate in most games because they are games not biographies or history books . Just make the game fun , good gameplay and such .

Ghost of Tsushima wasn’t historically accurate in many things but I loved the game . Many examples like it .
