Lite-On expands monthly capacity by one million units for 360 DVD drives

DigiTimes reports from Taipei, Taiwan, that Lite-On IT, the largest Taiwanese manufacturer of optical disc drives (ODDs), expanded its monthly production capacity starting in the second quarter of 2007 from five million to six million units by the end of September. The additional monthly capacity is dedicated to production of the internal DVD-ROM drive of the Xbox 360, according to industry sources.

Is this why the 360 disc drives suck because they try to rush them out the door.Not all the drives suck but mine is noisy as hell compared to my nephews.
