VGRevolution writes: Sometimes you play a game and you just can’t categorize as one particular genre. When it was first announced, different sources were calling Majesco’s Monster Tale a pet-simulator mixed with platform elements. I was hesitant at first to try it out mainly because of this “pet” portion thinking that I’d be playing one of those games that has you raising and caring for your pooch or kitty and watching him grow. Thankfully, that’s not what this game is at all and it quickly became a DS game I couldn’t put down. Dreamrift has created a game very similar in design to Henry Hatsworth, but they have replaced its puzzle aspects with a new feature that gives a spin to the classic Metroidvania games.
From Gematsu: "The March 2011-released DS title Monster Tale is coming to “modern game platforms” in 2021, publisher Majesco Entertainment and developer DreamRift announced."
"Other gaming mascots better watch out, because the release of The Power of Illusion will mean Mickey's third major game appearance for the year 2012 -- other two being Kingdom Hearts 3D and Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two. Serving as a handheld spiritual successor to Castle of Illusion and what appears to be a close relative to DuckTales, The Power of Illusion promises to be a strong experience all on its own without relying heavily on Disney Epic Mickey's anticipated sequel to give it momentum." -- Wiiloveit.com
WingDamage.com writes, "This year, we at WingDamage.com wanted to take a little different approach. 2011 was a fantastic year for gaming. You could pick up nearly any new release (or digital only release for that matter) and come away pretty happy with your purchase. While this is a fantastic problem to have, it does make narrowing down and ordering a “Top 10″ list a harrowing endeavor.
Instead, this year we’ve decided to give you a quick rundown of a few of our favorite games in no particular order."
