THQ recently launched a new title, a risky and ballsy move; game-sait will explain why we think HOMEFRONT’S success or failure is important to all of us.
Alex & Mike talk Biomutant, a game from Experiment 101/THQ Nordiq you likely have not heard of. While the AAA side of the industry tends to homogenization and imitative, cinematic presentation, “AA” games remain creative and innovative in 2021. Drawing on inspirations as varied as Dark Souls, third person shooters & kung fu cinema, Biomutant is Ratchet & Clank on acid, developed by a team of 20 people.
Jack writes: "Back in March 2011, the first-person action shooter Homefront arrived on the Xbox 360 from THQ, along with a storm of publicity which included a really cool live-action trailer"
Remember THQ? They published such games as Avatar: The Last Airbender, Darksiders I & II, the Destroy All Humans series, Homefront, the Red Faction series, and Saint's Row 1-3. Almost as famous as their games were the THQ marketing stunts, including a Golden Wii.
TRUE. It's ridiculous that everything is ''2'' these days.
I don't see it's (possible) failure as a threat to new IPs.
I see it as a reaction to an over saturated shooter market.
Good article but the title is misleading. Also, it is too early to call Homefront a failure. Sales so far would say the game is a success and in my opinion it accomplishes what Kaos set out to do.
it's their own fault for not delivering. should we support them for releasing such a mediocre product? no.....if a new ip comes out that is awesome, then by all means, i'd be on it. darksiders was pretty sweet and i bought it twice. same with dead space.
I don't expect anyone to blindly support a bad game, what I saying is give it a chance before the gaming press kills it.
