How Wii Can Dominate in 2011

Across the board, every current generation console other than the Wii is set to have a great 2011. Playstation 3 gamers will have exclusives such as Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception and The Last Guardian, and Xbox 360 owners will have Gears of War 3 to look forward to. There are also some awesome multiplatform games that will hit both PS3 and 360, including The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Mass Effect 3. Sadly, when one takes a glance at the Wii the only thing they see is The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. As amazing as the new Zelda will surely be, one game won't satisfy millions of Wii owners. If Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime, is to be believed, then there are several new Wii games set to launch – they've just been pushed back to focus on the Nintendo 3DS. With that in mind, here's how the Wii can dominate the competition in 2011.

i nearly bought a Wii cause they bought out DK Country returns!! so many good DK memories. noone can say the wii isnt the top because it is. hopefully skyward sword will be released and it will be amazing and wii owners can rejoice!

The Wii is the biggest flaw in gaming today. It made Sony and Microsoft spend more time and money pushing below average casual crap and peripherals down the throat of gamers everywhere. Kinect and Move are utter shit. Nintendo doesn't dominate. It sickens and maimes the industry...

If Sony and ms really knew what hardcore console/arcade gaming was they wouldn't have went casual the way they did and they wouldn't be hiding bad games behind hd graphics and tired online play.

Sony and ms don't understand balance neither do their studios. As of right now hd gaming is dead in the water. Sequels and new ips that just suck still. Also when some one says AAA game I don't expect to be bored out of my mind.

I'm only posting this so you know their are hardcore gamers that actually don't like the games you do. Yet we have lives and games to play on the wii even.

Also I will have to remind you the same thing happened last year but you all where too busy hating to know better. The wii had a better line up than hd consoles last year yet some still act like it has no games.

Oh well thats your problem not mine. It looks like that way of thinking is only hurting you? I could easily say hd is hurting gaming right now. I mean it's not helping hd games get better since you have to hurt the game play to impress hype riddled fans now.

the wiimote works zero lag instant precision end of and no set up required if 360/ps3 paid royaltys to nintendo they could have had the superior wiimote with there logos on it 4 there systems Conduit 2 was at 3rd best FPS game 4 2011 and it has the best controls of any FPS ps3/360 should have paid Nintendo.

Without motion plus the wiimote is flaky and imprecise. I don't know how many times I've turned one way in Mario Kart only to have it turn the other way or completely ignore me.

Kneon the wii mote is either setup to turn flat or standing up or in front of the player. You will notice they use only one gyro to make it MORE precise. If you really want to have fun play it with the snes classic controller, it's just like the snes. Also motion controls are a cool option just like in Mario kart.

Mat there will be a new nintendo console. Tessellation is going to be the main feature I believe. Maya just upgraded with a brush like tool now. I'm sure nintendo will be doing more normal maps and displacement maps now.

The amount of rpg studios, pure shoot em up in treasure, real platforming Mario and dk, true fps controLs. It really is funny to see the hd console guy cry over games running so badly. Then they act like there is nothing to play on the wii.

Believe this tessalation is the future and that is really next gen tech right there.

One problem with nintendo is they won't settle for low frame rates any more so when they go hd they know they better go all in. If you can't see that in the 3ds then you don't want to see the truth.

The Wii won't dominate this year. So far the ps3 has been leading the pack and the 360 has been in a close second. The Wii has been profiting since it's release, so I don't think Nintendo is complaining.

yes i am right, conduit 2 does look horrid. it doesnt matter about the technical achievements high voltage have made because if the art direction is poor it will still look horrible. i mean think of madworld, basic engine, not claiming to change the world, but it has good art direction! conduit 2 looks ugly.

when people say what games they are looking forward to on the wii, they always refer to the same old games... games that are either: 1-not even being released in the west. or 2- a working title with absolutely no info behind it. thats how desperate the situation on wii is, when asked about future games people have to scrape the barrel.

there is no problem if the games are solid, but not one of those games listed (bar conduit 2 because its not worthy of being on the list)is a game with any weight behind them. none of them are games who's release is tangible.

its almost april and there have been zero game releases worthy of mention on the wii. zilch! where is the next game worth buying? tell me. i challenge you to find a good game that is on the release schedule and dated!

im sure you will come back with the same conclusion i have- there are NO games on the horizon for wii. and NO games with even as much as a target release date ha the wii is finished this year.

Pcz you remember what happen last year right? A bunch of games went unannoced. E3 was so boring right? Then we got a ton of games from dkr to golden eye.

Sure nothing is announced but really why does that matter when I can play my 40 good wii games right now? I'm sure you have no idea what I'm talking about. I havn't had any Bubble upgrades/downgrades for a long time now. "Friendly" responses aren't even relevant, i've shared my opinion as well as how i feel about a certain thing. I've had my share of disagreements as well. So what does that say about my bubble count vs yours?

come on, you and i know, along with everyone on this forum and the entire industry that this game is a patch job of the old canned kirby game on gamecube. it would obviously had revisions, but the fact is, nintendo revived a shelved game.

ha, no im not actually, pandoras tower is not a game made out of desperation.. well, theres not enough info but it appears to be original. a game revived from the bins of the gamecube era can only be born out of desperation. im not calling all nintendo games desperate, im calling the new kirby game desperate and im calling some wii fans desperate for clutching at straws with some of these titles they are listing as anticipated.

I'd love to see those two rpg's come to the US. But I doubt Wii is going to domninate this year. Nintendo is launching 3DS now and probably subtly moving Wii to the 2nd line for their development and marketing efforts and thinking about a replacement of some kind.
