Assassin's Creed: 40+ hours of game playing time

Jade Raymond said that Ubisoft has been pushing play tests for the past few months and the average length has been around 18 hours by just doing the core missions and over 40 hours if you decide to do some exploring.

Hooray! One of the things that irritates me the most is having to pay $60 for a game, and then beat it in 1 or 2 days.

ElementX6467d ago

Maybe if you have multiple games or only play it two hours a day, games would last longer. I'm still "finishing the fight". Read a book, watch a movie, there's lots of things to do to spread out the gaming.

Mainman6467d ago

I am REALLY on the fence with this one, leaning more towards not buying this game.
A demo could have made me decide to buy this game, so really disappointed that there wont be a demo.

BaMYouRDeaD6467d ago

Believe me buddy, I do far more than just sit and play video games all day, but when I get a game, I want to finish it as soon as possible.

ShiftyLookingCow6467d ago

I was thinking of waiting for reviews, but 40+ hours, looks like they put some serious effort into it, it will be a good purchase.

Jdash246467d ago

i cant wait for this game........looks very promising

Kuest6467d ago

Pft! Who gives a rat's @$%#. This game (and Mass Effect- not that it has anything to do with this thred) are my most anticipated. Oh, and COD4. Oh, and Ace combat... I'll stop.

joydestroy6467d ago

Army of Two, Kane and Lynch, just to name a few more.

synce6467d ago

These figures are always exaggerated.

Dr Pepper6467d ago (Edited 6467d ago )

Well, there is really no way to say exactly how long it will take someone to complete a game. However, they are usually pretty close to it.

Even if many fall short, some exceed the amount of predicted time (they said around 100 hours for Oblivion, but I've gone way over).

MK_Red6467d ago

Dr Pepper has a good point.
I played GTA:SA more than 80 hours and it does not count the replay. I spent more than 200 hours on one run of Final Fantasy or Morrowind.

And even when played only to finish the game quickly, the times are still different.
Look at Halo 3 reviews. One reviewer and site calls the singleplayer a 6-8 hour affait while other one says it lasts for 15 hours.

Even if 40 is exaggerated, it won't be less than 20 which is a great deal and we know the game is kinda open world so...

They already did that in 2017 with origins. I don’t think a reboot is on the cards when Ubisoft is about to go down under lol

I hope the splinter cell remake sees the light of day before the company closes

Inverno108d ago

I doubt they'll be closing, but they are primed to be eaten up by a bigger comp. Also 2017 was nearly a decade ago, it could use another reboot or rather it should just be retired.

RaidenBlack108d ago

Origins was the reboot.
But that also alienated the original AC lovers, abit. Not everybody adores the perma-change of the IP to be vast RPGs.
What I instead propose is, alternate between Valhalla/Shadows type AC RPGs and Mirage/ACII like non-RPG releases.

It’d be nice if they made parkour feel new

monkey602108d ago

Put the series to bed, It's tired! Revisit your stagnant properties.

Profchaos108d ago

What do you do when you've already milked everything dry

Noskypeno108d ago

What is old might feel new again. A new splinter cell with semi open levels but still having a linear structure (not just one giant open world) that have multiple paths to complete the objective but still have stealth be the main priority would feel fresh, especially with modern graphics and military gadgets .

FinalFantasyFanatic108d ago

I agree, from anecdotal evidence, all franchises eventually stagnate, it might be a good time to start something new.

PRIMORDUS108d ago

"it might be time for a reboot." No it might be time to put this shit to rest for a few yrs. A good 4-5 then come back.

Profchaos108d ago

Total franchise reboot. This ac game is basically the hail Mary to keep Ubisoft alive if this fails the share price will be so low they will be forced to sell and likely absorbed into another org as the Ubisoft name carries almost no weight.

Don't get me wrong they will end up selling after ac regardless but it will be the difference of getting the deal they want vs the deal they don't

Tell me how that's going to be significantly different than colonial America. AC is about showcasing different cultures throughout history. They already did Native Americans in AC3, so then just cowboys, outlaws, ranchers, etc? Kinda feel like there's already a game out there that does that really freaking well. Hmmm, maybe the one in the thumbnail?
