Apple iPad 2 GPU Graphics Performance Explored: PowerVR SGX543MP2 Benchmarked

Architecturally the 543MP2 has more than twice the compute horsepower of the SGX 535 used in Apple's A4. Each shader pipeline can execute twice the number of instructions per clock as the SGX 535, and then there are four times as many pipes in an SGX 543MP2 as there are in a 535. There are also efficiency improvements as well. Hidden surface removal works at twice the rate in the 543MP2 as it did in the 535. There's also a big boost in texture filtering performance as you'll see below.

I'm glad your article got approved. I'm not sure why you took my reporting so personally, or blocked me from having a conversation with you about it.

I tried to have a dialog with you about it and, rather than allow me to respond to your concerns, you blocked me. I particularly found the accusation that I am an Apple-hater quite humorous, especially as I type this on my iMac with an iPhone in my pocket and my iPod charging in front of me.

As I mentioned before you blocked me, my opinion is only one voice in thousands. Clearly, others saw the merit and my opinion was not in the majority. I'm completely fine with that.

I welcomed your comments and concerns and was more than willing to discuss them. Rather than engage in that dialog, though, you chose to block me.
