RubyEclipse, the Assistant Community Manager for Sega of America, comments about the possibility of his company localizing the Japan-only Playstation 3 exclusive, Yakuza Kenzan, for North America.
Yakuza Kenzan might never be remade and released globally. The developer says it's costly and might not stay true to its roots anymore.
Such a shame. Kenzan with 2022 tech would've been great. Hopefully something changes down the road.
In a recent interview, the producer of the Yakuza series, addressed the possibility of Yakuza Kenzan and Ishin coming to the west.
I own the original. It wouldnt be a good move to bring it over. Its very dated. Id be more interested in a black panther remake.
I really hope with all the recent success of this series we get these two games. Longtime series fans have been asking for a while now. Either remake of go back and tweak like EA is doing with ME remaster where they are upgrading the gameplay
I picked up a copy of Ishin in Japan and played a few hours with an English guide. It's a really awesome game, and given the popularity of Yakuza in the West these past few years, I'm looking forward to a Western release.
Yakuza Ishin and Kenzan are two spin-offs in the Yakuza franchise that haven't been localized yet. Sega Europe has now confirmed that they don't have any plans to bring them to West.
no plans for these two games, yakuza destroyed with turn based combat. WTF? too much success for Yakuza?
I have Kenzan. The battle mode is very different, instead of using fists you use swords (there is hand to hand combat but not that great compared to the sword fighting). Some of the sword combos should of been in Yakuza 3 and 4 (some of the heat finishers are). Anyway Sega should release this along with Of The End in a bundle (if it gets released over here) if not put it on the PSN at a reasonable price because it's a 3 year old game. I'm hoping for the PSP Yakuza game to come out, the demo was great.
Right. Because no one outside of Japan would ~ever~ want to buy a samurai game, and because Yakuza 3's "success" had nothing to do with launching the same month as Final Fantasy XIII, God of War 3 and Heavy Rain. Or having a lot of content cut. Or not being marketed at all.
Goddammit, Sega. How can you be so stupid?
I played the demo and it was GREAT!
But I care about the story so much that I could' t get the -impossible to undestand- jap version :/
I' m going to buy Yakuza 4 for sure, so SEGA: think of Yakuza' s fans!
Already imported it from PlayAsia a while back, but would love a localized version. I'd love to know what they hell they are saying! LOL
I'd buy it day one. Not gonna play it without subs though, takes out too much of the story (actually, takes out the story completely lol).
