Looks better than GT5, in terms of graphics everything from the trees to the cars are all consistent and the shifting animations are much better than GT5's animations.

When the car starts accelerating it actually looks like it's doing just that, and when it's slowing down shifting gears the cockpit rumbles realistically. The tires make a fine rumble sounds over rubble and the rough surface of the track, even dirt appears on the wind screen.

PD have the potential to beat this by miles, but since GT5 is their first game this gen I'll give them a chance.

and gt5 is all sim so not a fair comparison

but i like shift 2 its looking very nice its easy to pack in 40-60 cars than 200 plus that it takes for gt and forza so shift doesn't have the content that forza or gt series offers

PD for gt6 we don't need gimmick like over 100 cars just give us 300-400 or even 200 racing cars and put rest of resources in other areas

PD should do a full nascar game that would be something

ULTIMATE_REVENGE4810d ago (Edited 4810d ago )

Yeah I hope PD have about 350+ vehicles, and I hope it's cars people actually want to use and none of then lame cars that no ones heard of.

If they work on less but wanted cars it frees up time for them to work on many other parts of the game such graphics, animations, textures, lighting, engine sounds, rich features, A.I, environment detail etc.

PD should also manage their development time properly and work on the most important things first and the finer details later on in production.

Time management on the productions of different areas and features of the game is also key.

only thing that looks better than gt5 are the trees

love the sounds wish gt5 would sound like this .. just less exaggerated

/@ULTIMATE_REVENGE "When the car starts accelerating it actually looks like it's doing just that, and when it's slowing down shifting gears the cockpit rumbles realistically/"

it doesent look all that real to me
it looks like the car moving around and the head is staying in one spot
you can see when he speed up the cam just go back and when he slow down it moves forward instead of down

the environment should be moving

yes, i support quality over quantity. i think if gt6 had 500 cars that would be more than enough and definitely more than what most other games would offer. forza 3 had about 400 cars, and forza 4 might have a bit more than that, so i think 500 should be just enough to outnumber forza. i love gt5 but i'd rather they put in higher details into cars even if the total number of cars is less.

I will hold off on my opinion of the graphics until I see them with my own eyes. I played and completed Shift on both consoles. It was a blast to play on a wheel (not the POS wheel the guy is using in this video but a Fanatec 911 S) but a graphical juggernaut it wasn't.

It looked good, nothing more. Most likely Slightly Mad Studios bumped the visuals some but not enough to contend with GT5 or Forza 3. ISR reported on their visit to EA and they said it was improved some but they did not go on about the visuals which leads me to believe they wont be much better than the original.

Not that I care because Shift was a great wheel game. Now I have two new wheels (GT2 and T500 RS) to try Shift 2 out on so I cant wait for it to be released.

This guy is killing me playing this game with that wheel on his lap. Dude at least desk mount that thing.

GT5 is sim......so when your car does 100 mph + into a wall and has no damage thats simulation....hmm

Your a 360 fanboy who doesn't even own a PS3...

GrandDragon4810d ago (Edited 4810d ago )

Wow you must be a fanboy because ULTIMATE_REVENGE does in fact have a PS3 and according to him it's the only console he has.

He's comment is genuine and it doesn't sound like he's bashing GT5 in anyway so please shut up.

Silly gameAr4810d ago (Edited 4810d ago )

@Grand Dragon.

Having a ps3 doesn't make him any less of a fanboy, but the game does look excellent.

hiredhelp4810d ago

I wouldnt involve GT but i see were you comming from. but lets keep this as a multiplatform game.
however. if you wanted to jump the gun. i like the looks of this its nice dont get me wrong but over colord on some things like the grass not true as GT tryed its very best to do. and it seems slow than gt. anyways heres the deal
if i was gonna compare these games to anything why not these.

FORZA 3,NFS SHIFT 2,DIRT 3

digoutyoursoul84810d ago

wow the interiors look excellent

Kon4810d ago

I may be wrong, but i don't see that much difference from the previous game. It looks like they only worked on the graphics. Well, i still will buy it.

I'm not impressed with much in terms of racing this gen. Graphics have been really raised racently, and it wasn't by the "two kings" (GT and Forza) in racing. Shift 2 and the upcoming Project Cars are now DOMINATING racing games graphically, GT5 and Forza 4/H do not even compare. But physics and gameplay-wise, most everything's been "off" aside from a select few. My short list would be.

#1 GT5. It's still rocking everybody in terms of gameplay and variety. It's got every kind of 4 wheeled racing almost from Karts to F1 and everything in between. GT needs to step it up graphically now though. Forza is the LEAST of their worries there.

#2 Motorstorm Pacific Rift. Just the #1 most fun and intense arcade/off-road racer ever made or ever will be made. SOOOOOO much variety compared to the bare bones (but great) first game, and a way better racing game than the 3rd game which was more like Split-Second than MotorStorm in THIS Motorstorm Fan's opinion.

#3 F1 Championship Edition. This PS3 exclusive launch game is imho still the best F1 game this gen in terms of the racing.

#4 FerrariChallenge/SuperCar Challenge. Alot of people havn't heard about these, they got VERY little attention. They sucked because not alot of cars, but it's a fact that System 3 put into these PS3 exclusives (they were on Wii too, but they weren't as advanced) the most advanced, realistic physics to ever be in a console racer. The same physics they put into their PC sim. Good graphics for the time too. Very under-rated.

#5 Shift 2. This is only here because I think graphically, it's a sneak peek at the next level in racing sim graphics. Project Cars is improving on that. But Shift 2 has HORRIBLE physics and I disliked playing it. If Project Cars can get the physics more in line than Shift 2, and have enough of a garage to have the variety in the racing while keeping the online field fairly even like GT5 does, it will truly be the next level of racing sims, and something may actually pull me away from GT5, which nothing has based on gameplay.

Also: WipeOut HD- awesome game, awesome value, it's expansion makes it an even better value, top notch quality.
