SFX-360 Review: Torchlight

SFX-360:

Torchlight is the fourth game in the House Party Promotion on Xbox LIVE. The game includes 200 gamer score and I will say it’s an easy 200 to obtain if you enjoy playing for countless days. I clearly spent hours upon hours playing. Torchlight was first created for PC in 2009 by the developers Runic Games, which was founded by Travis Baldree the lead developer of Fate and Mythos, Max Schaefer, Erich Schaefer and Peter Hu from Blizzard North and Flagship. Soon afterward they started work on the game Torchlight.

Runic Games have really outdone themselves by bringing Torchlight to the Xbox 360 and includes some features that Torchlight 2 will have. The Runic developers haven’t changed any of the settings that were included in the PC version and that’s one piece of news I enjoyed hearing when it was first announced. You will spend countless hours going through the dungeons and have a great time with the quest. If you’re a fan of Torchlight then you’ve chosen the right game.

I look forward to playing TL.

It's a good game, Got it on STEAM for $5 during winter. The only real problem is that there is no multiplayer at all, which would have made it almost as awesome as Diablo 2 was. Torchlight 2 is supposed to have online co-op though.

H2OAcidic4797d ago

I'll agree that was the only downside about this game. It seems like a game built for co-op gameplay.

H2OAcidic4797d ago

You'll spend a lot of hours playing this game. I keep coming back to the game daily playing as different people. I've enjoyed every hour I've spent so far and it's well worth the 1200msp.

You need to learn. How to stop using. Short and abrupt sentences. There's such things as. Paragraphs and sentence structure.

Raider694797d ago (Edited 4797d ago )

instead of comment on the game you start bashing the guy structure sentence! You shoud go an take literature insted of playing games!TL is great by the way!

Drjft4797d ago

One of the contributor test points mentions proper grammar and writing. Go read it.

I read the review, and whilst it was informative, it wasn't written well.

Yawn.... I will say torchlight is fun, but i have that on my steamdeck. Relicta is also on PS+ Extra and looks like it would make a cool VR game. No PSVR support though.

VenomUK664d ago

@Darthv72 How did you shift this story about the Xbox Games with Gold lineup into a negative about PSVR not supporting one of the games?! 🤣

crazyCoconuts664d ago

It's pretty impressive actually.

darthv72664d ago (Edited 664d ago )

Hmm... that is funny. I see it more as a negative against XB. Like other games on both, some offer a VR mode for PS and this looked like it should be one of them. Then again it doesnt even offer VR for PC so... ehh.

RedDevils664d ago

That how professional troll at their best work.

ChasterMies664d ago

Why continues reporting this? Who is left that is still interested in Games with Gold?

crazyCoconuts664d ago

I guess if I paid $5/month for this crap I'd still want to know what I got...

Eidolon664d ago

Yeah, be interesting to know. I hardly care because of Game Pass now, still don't mind seeing what we get, but I've come to terms that it's mostly going to be nothing I'll play if have GP.

itsmebryan664d ago

They should get rid of games w gold. With Gamepass I have too many better games to even think about GWG.

crazyCoconuts664d ago

So they've managed to decrease the value you get each month without decreasing revenue by making the games crappier. If they still charged $5/month without giving you ANY games at all, it would open them up to criticism and direct comparisons to PS+ without any way to subjectively spin the message

Crows90664d ago (Edited 664d ago )

It's also part of gamepass ultimate. It's good to see since it directly competes with ps extra

northpaws664d ago

This is beyond bad... kinda shitty move to force all their subscribers to get gamepass.

VersusDMC664d ago

Technically forcing people to move to Gamepass Ultimate. Regular gamepass doesn't include Gold.

Silly gameAr664d ago

I guess that's that value that everyone keeps talking about.

KillBill664d ago

Technically you aren't forced to buy anything. And Xbox Live gold can be bought separately. https://www.xbox.com/en-US/...

KillBill664d ago

What are you talking about you can still buy Xbox Live Gold on its own if you want to. You guys need to stop having conversations about Xbox if you know nothing about it. https://www.xbox.com/en-US/...

Silly gameAr664d ago (Edited 664d ago )

I guess the comments flew right over your head, huh? If GP was such a good value, gold would come with game pass, without having to get the more expensive opinion.

KillBill664d ago

@silly - what? Point is that gold can be had WITHOUT game pass. simple as that. Nothing forcing you to buy game pass.

gamer9663d ago

@ Silly, not sure what you're trying to say, you want game pass ultimate for the price of xbox live gold? That's ridiculous the amount of full price day 1 games you get included in game pass - you don't get that for cheap. Nobody is forced to get game pass, if the value is there you subscribe. if there's a drought in games you unsubscribe like i just did a month ago. Will likely get back on game pass this fall/holiday and into 2023 when the games are flooding in.

The Best Dungeon Crawlers Not Named Diablo

From Xfire: "The words "dungeon crawler" are defined as a genre of role-playing games wherein "heroes navigate a labyrinth environment, battling various monsters, avoiding traps, solving puzzles, and looting any treasure they may find."

Now, if you, just like every other gamer, thought immediately of any of the Diablo games when you read that, you're probably not alone.

The thing is, the Diablo franchise has been synonymous with dungeon crawlers since 1997. But while the Diablo titles have long been considered the most popular dungeon crawlers, they're far from the only ones that are worth playing."
