Autodesk made this? The same people who make AutoCAD? the technical drawing program?

I wonder if this is any good. I use CAD every day at work but the controls are very... "do exactly what you want how you want it" But, no shortcuts. Lines don't snap to lines, you need to draw the line past then drag it back to the intersection and all that. So it can be very time consuming. I'd imagine much moar so for anything as complicated as animation.

Autodesk bought a couple of companies when they expanded into gaming...but yes, the AutoCad company.

Autodesk own two of the major professional animation tools in the market, Maya and 3d Studio Max (3ds Max).

Also technical drawing and animation share a lot more than just parent company for programs. Most animators I know can handle CAD at least decently.

EDIT: Chebogo beat me to it, should had readed further.

Autodesk already make great animation technology tools. Search for Autodesk Maya(for me the best animation tool in the market),Autodesk 3ds Max,Autodesk SoftImage, Motion Builder , etc ...
All tools from Autodesk has a steep learning curve (included Autocad). But after you get the basics, you will become a beast.
