Direct2Drive has added a new revamped Casual Gaming Channel and to celebrate is offering every visitor a free game download just for checking it out.
This holiday season you have a lot of choices when it comes to buying digital PC games. Steam, Amazon, Green Man Gaming, Origin, and others offer holiday sales with PC Games at a deep discount. Missing from this list is the recently sold Gamefly Digital, and it’s going to be difficult spending the holidays without them.
Gamefly acquired Direct2Drive and shut them down. However over a month after the transition many customers are still missing the majority of their games. What gives?
I've been dealing with this load of BS for the past week or two. Many of my old CD keys no longer work and Gamefly says I have to download their version of the game in order for it to work, but they are taking their own sweet time in getting our games on their servers so they can be downloaded. Out of the 30 or so games I bought from Direct2Drive for over 5 years, I have access to 5 of them. These are games that I have owned for years now and suddenly I don't have access to my own property. Gamefly has proven to me that they are completely incompetent and will never see a dime of my money. Any complaints are answered in about 3 days time with some generic, copy and paste reply that either gives you instructions that do not work since most of the games are unavailable to just give some sort of excuse about how hard they are working to make our games available. If you ask me, all this mess should have been done behind the scenes before they merged the sites so it would have been seamless and they wouldn't have pissed on all of the D2D customers.
I have about 32 games on D2D. I'd say that I got 25% of them to GF. I saw this article on FPSguru so had to post it. But anyway what gets me is that I have some Sims 3, but not all, which seems weird. So I have to reinstall SIMS 3 but can't finish it. I can wait, but I wanted to know if others had the same issues....
Direct 2 Drive are offering 20% off store wide this weekend with their "Endurance" sale.
