GamingBolt: "Recently I was spending my time on the Crysis 2 multiplayer pc demo and I was able to take some high quality images.
My configuration was:
Phenom 2 X4 3.2GHZ
ATI Radeon HD 5670
So, I am glad I was able to run the demo at max expect the resolution which was 1280X720."

"Crysis 2 720p PC screenshots are breathtaking"

Not as breathtaking as it is when it's in 1080p! Looks fantastic either way though, but 1080p is where it's at!

Heck Crysis in 1080p is beastly!

DoomeDx2881d ago

When looking at pictures, its hard to see the diffrense between 720p and 1080p, unless you have a huge screen.

evrfighter2881d ago

what kind of pc gamer takes screenshots @ 720p?

must be running a high end dell.

Omega Archetype2880d ago

@Wesley: I don't know who started that rumor, but screen size doesn't matter that much, you (generalization) can still tell the difference between 720p and 7080p.

My laptop has a 17" screen, and there's a significant difference in those two resolutions (unless a game is in windowed mode, then it looks nice, yet small on screen.)

I'd sacrifice graphical settings to keep 1080p going. Luckily though my laptop is damn good (i7, GTX 460M, 8GB RAM,) and I haven't had to do that yet (even with Crysis, though I had to play on Medium @1080p, but it looks better then any console game, KZ3, Uncharted 2, FFXIII and God of War 3 being the only close ones IMO.) and those mostly are all native 720p and don't truly run in 1080p like a PC game can.

Still, 720p is great too, but man, you've got to see it to understand the difference!

Check out the thread on the forums. 720p nowhere in sight.. lol. All our shots are at 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 or above.

I must be jaded. I just don't get off on screenshots like this anymore... BAck in the day, the next release of a product would go several levels beyond its predecessor. This all feels so incremental in comparison.

Perjoss2881d ago

its because the original crysis was way ahead of its time, and since then crytek have learned a lesson to not aim too high in terms of system requirements, also, the game is coming to consoles so they cant afford to push the graphics up too far as the video cards in consoles are 5+ years old.

Why in the hell did this guy waste money on that muhc ram!? Should have spent that on a better gpu. My Lappy eats his rig for breakfast!

OpenGL2881d ago

He said looks great, as in the graphics look great.

SnakeMustDie2881d ago (Edited 2881d ago )

The game does look amazing but Pier 17 kills my framerate for some reason. Playing Skyline is silky smooth in 60fps 1080p Hardcore V-sync.

SnakeMustDie2881d ago (Edited 2881d ago )

I'm using an i7 860 @ 2.80GHz. I turned off Hypertreading because it might be the source of the problem. No good. I've also tried overclocking to 3.2GHz but I fear my processor might fry so I didn't continue.

I also have 2 GTX 260s SLI. Maybe that is the problem. I forced AFR2 in the Nvidia Control Panel for the demo.

Can anyone suggest?

chak_2881d ago

Yeah, just try to O/C it and run "real temp" software. You'll see if it fries.

You can stress your CPU using linx if you want.
