Final Fantasy XIII Actor To Voice Catherine Protagonist Vincent?

Troy Baker, or Snow as Final Fantasy 13 fans may know him, has dropped a few not-so-subtle hints at his next voice work role.

Troy comments on his official facebook page that his upcoming role will have him in a “bizarre love triangle…” and that he will also have to “solve puzzles to survive”. There’s only one game that we can think of that fits that bill, Atlus upcoming puzzle game, Catherine.

I don't think I could play this listening to english VA

Acquiescence2788d ago (Edited 2788d ago )

it's gotta be the Japanese language track with subtitles all the way or I'll be hella pissed. I don't think I can play another game listening to Troy "YURR HERE-OOOO HAS ARRIIIIVED" Baker. I want to hear the original voice-actors who auditioned and were cast by the developers for a very good reason.

Edit - Exactly, dumbing down an alien culture so that us Westerners can understand it derp derpy derp. As you say though, with blu-ray there's no reason why they can't have both tracks. If the dub is only included and not the original, I WILL headbutt the nearest pneumatic drill.

The worst part of all this is that they re-write the lines, "americanize" them if you will, because us silly english speakers can't understand other cultures.

Blu-ray has so much space, there's no reason for lack of dual-audio anymore.

looks like theres some trolls that disagree :D

Pozzle2788d ago

I'll probably get disagrees for this, but I didn't mind Snow or his voice in FFXIII.

Focker4202788d ago

His voice fit Snow very well, even though I didn't like the character. But I really don't think his voice works for Vincent.

MaideninBlack2788d ago

You should have heard his work in Sengoku Basara 3. 5 star perfomance.

Katana Yamato2788d ago

Yes Troy is very good in Sengoku Basara playing Mitsunari Ishida and saying "IEYASUUUUU!!!" Love him in that!

Ddouble2788d ago

Yea he's voice wasn't bad. It was just the hero talk that got annoying after a while.

TheCagyDies2788d ago (Edited 2788d ago )

I like Troy Baker, his role as Yuri Lowell in Tales of Vesperia was very good and enjoyable to listen to.

Just checked out his official Facebook page, he has confirmed that he is playing Vincent so this is no longer a rumor.
