The fps look really nice is this 60fps on consoles?

mistajeff5224d ago

i remember yerli saying in an interview that it was a solid 30 on both consoles

evrfighter5224d ago

it looks like cod on the crytek engine

so innovative -_-

RBLAZE19885224d ago

@ evrfighter it's not really...I just played and it feels a lot more tactical even on team deathmatch since you have the stealth and suit gameplay to work with plus being able to slide.

I am surprised that I can run this on a P4 2.4 ghz processor with Hyper Threading, a 2600XT AGP 256mb videocard and 2 gigs of memory. I got it running decent at 800x600 resolution. Still looked pretty awesome even at those minimal levels.

Pandamobile5224d ago

It's a lot like the more classic Call of Duty games, which is good.

Take everything that was good about COD4 (fast paced gameplay, balance, etc), throw it the most advanced graphics engine available today, throw in a sliver of Mirror's Edge, and a dash of Nano-suits and you've got an awfully fun game.

Fred-G-Sanford5224d ago (Edited 5224d ago )

I would love to be playing this right now, but I have been unable to sign in since I downloaded the demo (over 3 hours ago). :/

It's like putting a Christmas present in front of somebody and then making them stare at it for over 3 hours before they can unwrap it. lol

Seriously, WTF?

Megaton5224d ago

I'm in the same boat as Sanford. It won't even let me create an account. Should just be able to use my damn EA account, which I already don't like having. Hate having to make a f*cking new account somewhere just to play a game, or in this case, a demo.

I was mostly looking forward to the single player portion of the game, but I am really surprised how much I like the multi-player. Something about it just really clicks with me. The nano suit really does add some interesting new tactics into the mix and I love the freedom of movement it gives you. On top of all that it looks amazing and runs really good on my set up.

awiseman5224d ago

I was hoping they were going to include the dx11 renderer in this demo, but oh well, it's nice knowing first-hand that I can run this really well on the high dx9 settings. I'm guessing that when they ship the game with individual, detailed graphics settings that the highest possible dx9 settings will look even better than that. At least I can always revert back to that when that dx11 tessellation starts tearing my gpu a new @$$hole.

does anyone know if they're using any other dx11 features for this, like radiosity, or other big fancy words?

the worst5224d ago (Edited 5224d ago )

looks like an average FPS
this is what PC gamer are talking about
LOL
OVERRATED

@RBLAZE1988 everything is better that campers on duty
there nothing amazing . wheres the mind blowing graphic at

crytek engine average

RBLAZE19885224d ago

Idk I think it's gonna be awesome. Let us know when you see an fps game come out that doesn't look generic and overrated. I def think it's better than call of duty

Pixelated_Army5224d ago

@theworst

totally agree with you man and after seeing what all these FPS have to offer I'm a lot more appreciative of what Killzone 3 and what it has brought to the table.

PandaJenkins5224d ago

There's a reason I loved Shadowrun. One of the most unique and least generic FPS games this gen and somehow everyone hated what was such a good game. Most fps games are entirely generic though, or at least most of the popular ones. Funny, isn't it?

Thrillhouse5224d ago

People hated it because it had no singeplayer and it wasn't very accessible.

Shadowrun mops the floor with other console shooters this gen in the terms of sheer competitive aspect. Such a difficult and well balanced game. From what I played, I absolutely loved it . . . my friends didn't :(

PandaJenkins5224d ago

That is definitely true. I have like one friend who also loved it. It became very hard to find games thanks to the matchaming being ONLY regional. So while there is still groups who play it, I live in NZ and must rely on only NZ/AUS players which is horrible. The reason why I don't play it... cause I can't :(.

I just can't believe how much variety that game had, but it was also so well balanced and came entirely down to skill. It makes me sad when something like that isn't appreciated.

PrimordialSoupBase5224d ago

Yes. Because you can tell how many frames per second it's running at from a youtube video.

im-12-years-old5224d ago

Your trolling is mediocre at best.

the worst5224d ago

im not trolling
the truth hurts

RBLAZE19885224d ago

go back to counter strike or whatever multiplayer you think is mind blowing. They're not gonna be able to blow our minds with every game that is released but I think they're gonna do enough things with Crysis 2 to make it have legs and gain popularity among the community. Oh and the graphics is based on the guys pc and they don't have the DX 11 shaders in the pc demo so take a chill pill for now.

xCaptainAmazing5224d ago

It's earlier on, but so far this has it for me. And yes, I'm even a PS3 user who isn't a raging fanboy, so eat that.

starchild5224d ago

Your comment couldn't be further off base. The engine is easily the most advanced engine ever seen. And the gameplay is hardly generic. It is difficult to radically innovate in the FPS genre, but this game feels fresher than most FPS that I have played.

floetry1015224d ago

I get the feeling that a lot of people want this game to drown.

Too bad it's actually great.

xCaptainAmazing5224d ago

I know right? It's definitely awesome and anyone saying otherwise hasn't played it at all and is in extreme denial. I was fortunate enough to play the earlier 360 beta/demo and it was awesome, just needed some ironing out. If the console versions play like this PC build, I will be extremely happy.

I know Crysis has had a name for graphics, but at this point I couldn't honestly give two shits about what it looks like. It plays AMAZING.

Shackdaddy8365224d ago (Edited 5224d ago )

Trolls will be trolls :)

Trick is to know when a few people are just repeating themselves in different posts or when a mass group is saying the game sucks.

HelghastDrake5224d ago

Eh.. Looks and runs better on PS3.

REALgamer5224d ago

Ummm...you're saying that despite the PC version of the game running at a higher resolution, DirectX 11 and twice the framerate, the PS3 version is better?

It looks great on all platforms, but aare to explain how the PS3 version looks and runs better than PC?

PandaJenkins5224d ago

He's just a troll. Don't bother.

D3athc3ll5224d ago

lol @ helghastdrake

the pc version does look better, just looking at the vid now!

Console versions will still be good though! I just hope they keep the controls based on other fps (call of duty) style!

cant wait to see singleplayer on pc with dx 11 shaders!

Shackdaddy8365224d ago

I think he was joking...

No one can be that dumb...

In addition to the roughly 100 job cuts IGN reported earlier today at Respawn Entertainment, EA has made wider cuts across its organization today, impacting around 300 individuals total including those already reported at Respawn.

Absolutely insane. Man I'm hope they land on their feet EA needs to get the shit together badly....

This is why this industry has slow releases and none compelling games.

127maXimus49d ago

Why would anyone willingly work in the VG industry or specifically for one of these globocorp organizations that put you in constant fear of losing your livelihood based on terrible choices made by idiotic management, not the people with talent making the actual games?
