"During the 2010 CES tradeshow, a company by the name of AVerMedia revealed their latest video capture device that would allow users to capture footage from any source with a component, s-video, or composite video output without having to worry about having a powerful machine. AVerMedia has achieved this by producing a self-powered USB 2.0 device that does most of the work rather than the computer. Along with the component, s-video, composite, and RCA inputs, you are conveniently given a couple output options enabling you to use any television/monitor with a component or HDMI input as your display device."
