Correct me if i'm wrong...but it seems like the 360 has SSAO. I'm going PC though. Not just for graphics but for the different tactical playstyle PC owners can get!

liquidxtension2820d ago

Ditto. I played the first on the pc and loved it.

360 does seem to have more detail and better colors

either way it's PC for me

LightofDarkness2820d ago

Seems 360 has more specular lighting and darker colours, and for some reason bushier eyebrows.

The PS3 version appears to have better anti-aliasing though in a number of shots. Textures seem to be better in either one in these shots, it's hard to say which one is better really, there's a lot of give and take.

For me, a performance analysis would be needed, as I would prefer smooth gameplay over slightly better graphics.

But in the end, I'm getting it on PC and cranking it up to 11. DX11 ;)

I've played both versions and here's what I saw:

The 360 version looks sharper, the PS3 version looks blurrier.

The PS3 version has slightly less noticeable jaggies, probably due to the overall blurrier image quality, but this is hardly noticeable.

The 360 version has more detail in the textures.

The 360 version had better contrast and richer colors.

So, out of my consoles I would definitely pick this up for my 360. But I am getting it for the PC anyway.

360 beter textures, but with jaggies...
PS3 better AA...

Is like Fallout New Vegas, but , inverse

PC as well. this is my first time playing a game of the franchise so i'm having to get used to playing with mouse/kb but i like it. it's pretty fun. totally died ha. the blood is pretty awesome =D

jaidek2820d ago

Wow, pretty close match! Overall the normal maps look a bit more defined on the Xbox 360 and it is ever slightly sharper. Also it looks like there is SSAO in pic 2 on the 360...hmmm...

Bay2820d ago

Looks like the 360 version has better textures and normal maps. Although you don't really notice these things too much when playing the game...

Still going with PC version anyway, haha.

While visually it is a large improvement over the original, there are still some rather unsightly textures in the demo. Also seems to be plenty of frame dropping as well. Let's hope this gets ironed out before going gold. Anyone know how old this demo is in terms of development?

jack_burt0n2820d ago (Edited 2820d ago )

what version did you play? in gameplay or engine cutscenes did u get fps drops?

Kiroe2820d ago

I was playing on the PS3 and yes it was during the cutscenes. I didn't see much fps variation during actual gameplay...which is a good thing. :D

Bigpappy2820d ago (Edited 2820d ago )

I played the demo. No fame rate drops or bad textures. When the monster slams the ground, that is not a FR drop, that is you being stuned by the impact.

Kalipekona2820d ago

They both have some slowdown, but the PS3 version has more.

junk3d2820d ago

Didn't the first Dragon Age Origins have better textures on the PS3?

Faztkiller2820d ago (Edited 2820d ago )

I think so but the port was handled by Edge of Reality.
