NowGamer: "Valve revealed at CES 2011 that it will be partnering with Razer Hydra to bring motion control to Portal 2, though it is currently exclusive to the PC platforrm."
I can almost guarantee that move support will be added at a later date through steamworks integration.
with Move software not selling at all devs have no reason to support it. given what's happened since the Move launch, Sony would be better off pretending Move doesn't exist now and put their resources into other areas
Sounds like someones got a case of the Mondays
@trollface Not really, this is valves way of saying the razer guys came to us did most of the work to get it working great, and are launching their product in a tough market on a tough platform for perhipherals. This gives them something to shout about. Whereas sony has sold 7million move controllers and has 3 exclusive AAA games coming out in the next month a half. Move will see the support just might be after launch.
@Jack_Burton There is no way Sony has sold 7 million moves! Move is a flop, Kinect has destroyed it.
@Happyface & Klepto Is that what you tell yourself. Meanwhile gamers are enjoying core games with Move.
@happyface Wow, you look pretty silly saying that on February 21 considering Killzone 3 will be released tomorrow, which has full Move support and is by far the biggest Move supported game ever released. Amazon: 1. 38 days in the top 100 Killzone 3 Sony Computer Entertainment PlayStation 3 $59.99 #1 on amazon and nobody wants Move supported software. Uh, yeah, sure...LOL
I think, why not? It seems it's one of these games that would fit the Move so nicely and could be implemented, relatively, pretty easily. I really would scratch my head if Move option wasn't included for Portal2. It just seems logical. The Move controller actually looks like it would feel like a real extension of the Portal Gun in the hands of the gamer. Awww, come on happyface, why so sour. Surely Valve will most certainly implement Portal controls using Kinect too since it would seem to fit really well if you just point your hand or finger and click your thumb in mid air like... I'm sorry I just can't hold a straight face and type more lol
What, do they want Sony to beg? This has got to be included in Portal 2. Got to.
The ball on move changing colour to the portal colour is BEGGING to be added.
Yeah, that would be a great idea. Also I hope Valve makes a PS3 exclusive collectors edition with a Portal Gun Move Attachment. That would be sick and might make me buy the PS3 version over the uber cheap PC one.
Sony, Get it done! (pay the dev cost to put it in, for this and all new FPS games).
It is gonna come in time it will no doubt this game screams PS Move support.
maybe a downloadable add on
There is so little needed doing for it to be done, only thing stopping it could be an exclusivity deal unfortunately.
This would be extremely cool, when I think of Portal 2 gun the closest thing I can think of would be a move controller with its bulb orange/blue, might have to get move for it
It says ' consoles support cross play' as far as I know only one 'console' does it with the pc and thats the ps3.
People are anxious waiting for more Move enable games and they will give preference to buy a FPS with Move compatibility then a game without that thing. is it not that Portal 2 will come in march ? Well ,if it is true then it will "fight "costumers with Crysis 2 and as far as I know this game will not support MOVE controller but at least will have 3D enable. Remember the game Uncharted that had no trophy system... then ND added it and BUM< it sold almost another 1M . But the poor Heavenly Sword and MGS4 producers did not have faith that a simple thing as trophies would help boost their game's sales. I bet it would have boosted quite a lot btw. Portal 2 , RE6 , RAGE etc must have MOVE copatibility to help these games to sell even better on the PS3. Same as Kinect, it does not have MANY GOOD games so when some thing real uber for it pops such a Forza4 or a new Halo it will sell like hot cupcakes ...
I'm all for added features. With that said, here's hoping Valve can manage to implement it before the game's launch.
Add Move support. Give the gamer the option.
Well, if Steamworks on PS3 turns out the way I hope, I could see them just patching it in with some other stuff like it was no big deal.
What benefit is there having Steamworks on PS3? How does it differ from what Sony already offers?
Cloud sync (save games and settings), cross-game and cross-platform chat, and patches that are left more to the developer's discretion than Steam or Sony, which means free updates. The free updates thing is just an assumption for PS3, but it's on PC's Steam, so why not?
It also likely means that the PS3 will receive free DLC.
playing fps with Move is amazing
This would give me incentive to actually give a shit about the Move.
I really am not excited about Portal 2. I would have been more excited if Valve had announced a patch or re-release for the Orange Box that fixed all the issues on PS3. I know Valve did not convert Orange Box for PS3 but it still annoys me how they had such little respect for PS3 they did not care how their most successful (and best) IP was translated for PS3.
It would be absolutely ridiculous to not implement move support if another motion device will be used for PC. Valve have to be smarter than that and will add Move support maybe later. Though it would be even smarter sooner than later. Move has not sold as much as the Kinect but to say that Move is a failure is just rubbish... it sold a lot.
As I've said many times, I do not like Move for FPS, which this techincally isn't. I do like the idea of this game being Move capatible. It's more First Person Cerebral. It just fits.
