Test Drive Unlimited 2, Open Issues and Service Status (updated – February, 19 9:30 est)
My only problem with this game was how you can lose control of your can so easy and it didn't matter what car you used. That and the naging from the chick when you start and find out you got to do a drivers test to do anything else.
My main problem is the handling, I was fine in the Lancia Delta but as soon as I got something rear wheel drive I can't drive it round corners! Also, why does the traffic sometimes disappear ?
I have no idea, I think this one isn't as good as the first one. At least control/handling isn't.
I really don't see what either of you are complaining about. You have to drive each class of car differently. You can't take an Aston Martin and try and gun it around a corner or you will spin out. I think both of you should really learn to drive before blaming the cars.
I played GT5, Forza 3, Test Drive Unlimited 1 and the new Need For Speed. And I never had any problems with the cars handling, so yes it is this game. Read before replying next time.
Right because I should definitely know all the driving games you have played just from this, "My only problem with this game was how you can lose control of your can so easy and it didn't matter what car you used. That and the naging from the chick when you start and find out you got to do a drivers test to do anything else." Also, "[...] the new Need For Speed." Using that game in a debate over handling made me laugh.
Yeah don't blame me because it is true, this is why this game has been getting a lot of poor scores.
No, it has been getting low scores because the story is lame and the online doesn't work. The people saying the handling is bad are obviously unaware that water, power, class, handling, and going up or down hill all affect your handling and different combinations of those elements need to be handled differently. There is no ONE way to handle your car through all of the possible scenarios.
THIS GAME IS AMAZING!!!!
I don't get what happened to this game. I had an absolute blast with the first one early on this generation. Everything I saw about this one leading up to it's release looked mediocre. Now it hits retail and the reviews are bad to barely average. 4 years in the making and this is what they come up with? The first one was a better game. I am so glad I passed on it. From the looks of it I doubt I will even rent it and I am a racing / driving fanatic.
Personally, I like the game. Sure it has its flaws like easily losing control and the graphics not looking the best but the over all package is great. If you're a Grand Turismo, Forza, NFS Shift kinda guy then this game probably wont appeal to you. But if you prefer lighter racers that don't take them selves seriously then you would appreciate this game with its flaws. For $50 you get an MMO style online play which is simpily cool. I still enjoy just cruising around with buddies (Yes, as weird as that sounds), getting into the all so random car ramming with other players, and you certainly get more then enough races to compete in. Losing control of your car is never good but then again its not as bad as everyone is making it out to honestly. The controls are fine and if I was rating the control alone of the gamed I'd give they a 7 out of 10 which means its def usable. For $60 I probably would have passed on it, but for $50 the game seemed more appealing to me and I am glad I bought it.
Enjoy it, especially just cruising round, however where on earth did they get those voice actors ? Gotta be the worst I've ever heard.
this is were we agree to disagree. :-)
Thankfully the bad cut-scenes and atrocious voice acting do not kill this game.
they horrible but funny i must admit!
