How to Really spot the new HDMI 360 Premiums

Contrary to the report at that the HDMI equipped Premiums say HDMI on the box, not all of them do. Trying to find the new Xbox model at the store isn't easy at all. The folks at TeamBio find out exactly what to look for if you are interested in picking one up. Oh yeah, and don't forget the special HDMI cable.

Only Microsoft would make it so freaking difficult to spend money!!

Im not sure if MS is already doing this, but to be smart I would stop the non HDMI Premimums and just keep shipping the HDMI enabled ones, its that simple.

I'm with you on that one.

Every Xbox 360 with a HDMI port (probably even the Core, just without the HDMI header on the pins) has Motherboard Version 1.1. This Motherboard has fewer components, smaller components, new layout, and a new CPU/GPU mounting methodology.

Look at this: http://www.mainstageclothin...

Then read this:
"Having identified a number of factors which can cause general hardware failures indicated by three red flashing lights on the console, Microsoft has made improvements to the console and is enhancing its Xbox 360 warranty policy for existing and new customers."

The Xbox 360 heat issues have already been fixed, and we already were told. And we've been seeing the improved hardware for months now. They probably have already stopped shipping Version 1.0 Motherboards, their are just some left in the channel.

Remember hearing this recently:

"We have made all the improvements in our manufacturing process...All the consoles on the market have those improvements."

Peopel waiting for 65nm cores are wasting their time. Go out, get an HDMI ported Xbox 360 and you'll have a little less worry (dont believe the hysteria about failures, its much over-reported).

actually, it is pretty easy to find the hdmi-enabled permiums, since most stores now stock those and don't have the regular ones anymore..if you don't see th box say hdmi, simply go to another store that has them since ALL bestbuys clearly have the price tag on the shelves marked "xbox360 premium w/hdmi $349"

""Oh yeah, and don't forget the special HDMI cable.

Only Microsoft would make it so freaking difficult to spend money!!""

um, i believe that the hdmi cable is not "special", it is a regular hdmi cable that you buy for the premium, and just like all those ps3 fans were saying, it shouldn't be a big deal to buy an hdmi cable since you can get those online for like $10-$20. personally, i would just get the elite since it comes with an hdmi cable, audio adapter and 6 times the storage capacity....

OK it's somewhere between the two. The HDMI cable isn't special, but you if you aren't running the HDMI through your stero and want stero sound, you need the MS HDMI cable because it has a special adapter to allow you to pipe optical or RCA sound to your receiver. The normal AV cable will not fit the unit with an HDMI cable plugged in.

Second, it's nice that BB marks the boxes, but in lots of stores the Xbox 360's are in the store room and you have to rely on 8.00 an hour help to find it. Since the box has no markings, it is difficult without knowing the part number to make sure you aren't getting an older premium.

Don't need HDMI. Heard that the quality doesn't really improve.
