Ex-soldiers bursts 8-year-old's intestines over video game saves

In April 2009, a soldier beat an 8-year-old boy so severely that his intestines burst. The child is hooked up to a machine that feeds him nutrients and collects his waste. All this over a deleted Grand Theft Auto IV game file.

this is a very important story, it is not video games that cause violence, this should not be ignored. this is all because returning soldiers find it difficult to readjust to normal life after being on tour. they need much more support then what they probably receive, especially when you find that they probably toured in a place where doing the most simple tasks are very dangerous, they don't obviously know how to turn of the adrenaline switch that would always be on whilst on tour in iraq/aghanistan etc

From my own personal experience with active military men on Fort Irwin (I'm a civilian employee there), it seems most soldiers have at least some degree of anger issues. The A-Hole-of-a-soldier in the story's behavior was just about one level below Private Pile.

That kid must have been dumb since you have to actually select delete game. On PS3 you ahve to go to the save data, scroll to the data, press triangle, then select yes or no. On xbox you have to go to memory, select save device(if you have to), go through the sections of memory, scroll up or down till you find you saved data, press A, then go to delete, then you have to select yes or no.

I dont know how it could be a ACCIDENT since you would have to go through so many steps on both consoles.

When my brother and I were younger, I would find many of my save files deleted after he plays them. Its so easy for a little kid who is not a great reader yet to just mash buttons until the game pops up. I had lost a few zelda and Pokemon save files and of course I was very angry. An 8 year old kid will accidentally press pause and click random buttons to get back to the game or might even try to start a new game after he was told not to play on the saved game and when a notice bar shows up asking to rewrite a save file he might have pressed "yes" without thinking.

There is probably serious mental issues at work here, because if there wasn't he probably would have said a couple of curse words at the child/situation and been pissed off for the rest of the day and that would have the end of it.

The guy was not ex-soldier when it happend if you read the story properly. Sorry, I know has nothing to do with what this freak did really, but I've read many comments that have missunderstood, or just gone off the headline. The story says he was still a soldier at the time of the crime, he was obviously dishonorably discharged after this came about.
