With the moderate success of last year's Need for Speed: Shift, EA found themselves with a racing sim that developed a pretty loyal cult following. Following the launch of Gran Turismo 5 and it's less than stellar reviews (at least as far as the Gran Turismo series was concerned), the rumblings started. Somehow, somewhere, people were starting to realize that the mighty Gran Turismo was not infallible, and that the racing sim genre was suddenly itching for a new competitor. Forza 3 presented a pretty serious challenge, but being an Xbox 360 exclusive, it really didn't affect Gran Turismo that much. Racing fans were left with a "that's it?" reaction to GT5, and Shift suddenly became a viable alternative.
Paul writes: "So, all in all, Shift 2: Unleashed from way back in 2011 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC was a good game, but not quite as good as the marketing hype may have had you believe. Autolog and racing with friends was fun, the upgrading of the cars and the gradual unlocking of the new series made for an addictive play, and the game looked the part as well. But it failed to reach the heights many predicted."
"At B-TEN, we love video games. Even more then that, we love having the chance to talk about video games. Straight Right is a video game developer out of Australia known for Shift 2 Unleashed, Mass Effect 3 Special Edition and Dues Ex Human Revolution Director’s Cut. I got the chance to interview Straight Right CEO Tom Crago and get his insight into the games Straight Right has worked on."

Deus Ex was great, but ME3 was just done terribly. The should have done the collection of the series for wii u instead of the third game on its own.
Excellent work. This is a breath of fresh air especially compared to the usual doom and gloom on here. Keep it up.
Car racing games are the most prolific among all the genres of video games available for gaming consoles and computers. Ask any serious gamer and you will not find one who has never played a car racing game ever in his life. For starters, the reason behind the prolific success of car racing games can be attributed to the fact that they give you an opportunity to live a fantasy life that you can’t otherwise afford to live in reality. How many of you can afford the costly cars and their costlier upgrades? Very few. And, let’s not get into the legality of street racing and the risks involved with high speed car races.
I disagree about NFS Shift 2. I wanted to love it, and I loved the first one. They just made the cars handle like crap. Most of them feel like they pivot from the center of the car. It makes the "fun" a lot harder to swallow when you can't keep a world class sports car on the track, and not for lack of skill, but for lack of good physics, and driving dynamics. I really like the helmet cam view, and the way it is so visceral. Lets hope they fine tune it for part 3.
No way!
Oh yes sir...you better believe it!
I never tought i'd say this but gt5 will be surpass by shift 2 and forza 4 this year!
Like it or not
ok first of all let me tell u that gt5 and sold more than 7 million copies thats as much as halo reach made and its still going. now no game until 2 years is going to beat gt5 because gt5 is the best sim this gen, it can do everything and if u like me and u haave a 3d muilti screen tv, thrustmaster, and a racing chair ull know why i think its the best sim of all time. now shift 2 look just like shift 1 with a head cam which isnt all that, forza 3 is a sim-arcade racer and it looks like a cartoon in cock pit view. so yeah i think gt5 is better than any sim and they still fully patch the game almost ever month which gives the game new features, and fixes most off the problems, and they already fixed the loading problem and the only thing they have to do now is change those standerd car which kiznorie said he's going to upgrade them. the damage model is fully unlocked at level 40 and if u never seen the full damage heres a link http://www.youtube.com/watc...
Yes this game does sort of scare you when you get into a very bad crash, makes you want to think about aspects in real life situations..
..if they can re-create the look of ( trailer's ) night racing, that would be a huge step for Shift because it looks awesome and realistic. - ( GT5 should take note and make improvements, the lighting only goes for about a few meters in front and after that its just total darkness ).
That Pagani Huayra ( *god of wind ) video looks impressive!, love seeing those front/rear aero-flaps move/work.
If there are lights surrounding the streets which compensates for the terrible lighting on the cars, it works really well for GT5, but in total darkness just with the headlights on it's a different story.
And don't worry this is only an honest remark for *lighting and not the entire GT5 game which is brilliant of course.
