Why Marvel vs Capcom 3's Final Roster Is Perfect

The thing about fan-service in games is that, over time, if you as a developer give in to the demands that any fan base makes, there's a likelihood that the game series will start to suck. It's because most gamers only have a general idea of what they enjoy in a title, only a small inkling of what actually makes the game fun. Most gamers in general, if asked, would demand the same characters over and over again only because they don't realize anything different is out there. When left unexposed to any new possibilities, gamers will happily demand 'more of the same but better', a staple demand that often times cannot realistically be met. So taking a look at MvC3, a game that has literally been in demand for somewhere close to a decade, you always have to wonder if Capcom and Marvel are making the right choices.

Perfect as it is, I'll still jump for joy at the thought of Doc Ock being a possible entry to the series via DLC.

Hardedge5238d ago

I'm still left wondering why Stryder was left out.

mephman5238d ago

He's so awesome he'd just destroy everyone.

Hardedge5238d ago

Exactly!

Although I guess that explains why he was left out :( I hope they add him through DLC or something.

mephman5238d ago

I'm a bit disappointed that they took Frank West out of the initial line-up. He should be added later though, so that makes up for it.

ShawnCollier5238d ago

From what I heard, it sounded like they had issues with meshing in his moveset in the game.

a lot of games releases get pushed back for those kind of things...same thing should have happened with mvc3, but now hell be dlc and get a bit more money for it :S

Capcom wanted more female characters.

kornbeaner5238d ago

I like the cast, I like the game, I just don't like the play style. Zoning character are rewarded so much in this game. I wanted a rush down type game where heavy zoning was discouraged in favor of in your face constant action but no, if you can master a zoning game you can lame out a win. I'll keep playing for the time being but hopefully MK9 will be a blast.

New IP, please. Used to be (in the 80s) if it was a Capcom game, you knew it was good.

jznrpg2d ago

Pragmata is a new IP so there’s that. Another one would be nice though

Babadook72d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Honestly Capcom is still somewhat of a seal of quality for me.

shinXseijuro2d ago

Trust me I’m a Capcom baby. Got fond memories of Megaman and all the good library they had on snes 😂 . I always felt bummed Capcom shunned Megaman tho ever since inafune left the company . Pragmata seems like it’s a new Megaman sort of
