Its quite stupid how the blame seems to shift every decade or so about what makes people do violent things. Maybe some games contribute to the actions of certain people, but lets face it, those people must have been highly succeptable to any influence to actually commit a violent act based on what they've seen.
I'm sure that the author is right to assume that eventually the blame will become less frequent.
I don't think parents should keep their children away from violent games. I played M rated games when i was little and i turned out fine.
