Middleware developer Idea Fabrik will be showcasing a new platform that the company says represents a major breakthrough in the development of social games at the 2011 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.

Idea Fabrik, provider of the HeroEngine game development platform, has opened a new game development studio in Northern Virginia: Second Star Interactive.
Headed by game industry veteran Darrin Hyrup, Second Star Interactive features a core team with decades of experience at major studios throughout the game industry, including Electronic Arts, Mythic, Bethesda Softworks and Sony Online Entertainment.
