IndustryGamers comes back with yet another in they're ongoing series of character design and development. This time they sit down with Wright Bagwell, Creative Director at Visceral Games to discuss Isaac Clarke, the protagonist featured in the horror genre hit Dead Space.
With the success of the original title and the even bigger success of the sequel, they aim to find out how much impact Isaac Clarke plays on the world of Dead Space.
Former Visceral Games devs reveal Dead Space's marketing budget was cut in favor of Mirror's Edge because of mock review scores.
I wish EA would just release a DS2 remake. DS is my favorite horror game and DS2 is the best one in the franchise. But because DS1 failed to meet certain numbers EA scrapped the DS2 remake. SH2 remake was great rumors are Konami might be asking for another SH remake. The RE2 remake was great EA just needs to give it another try. But all they seem to do is shitty sports games that are no different from the year before. Change a few players, add different uniform colours, maybe change a team logo. Wash, rinse, repeat.
I bought Dead Space during launch window and I never bought a Mirror's Edge game .
Visceral Games, formerly known as EA Redwood Shores, was an American video game developer studio owned by Electronic Arts. In 1998, Electronic Arts moved from San Mateo, California to a new corporate headquarters building which they had constructed in Redwood Shores, California. In this move, they founded a new division at this location, named EA Redwood Shores, which operated under the general ‘EA Games’ brand.
All playable from October 1.
Neat. I guess sometimes we don't realize how much the developers scrutinize the main character for a game. Visceral put tons of thought into this. Definitely paid off.
Not really though, the unknown Isaac was more interesting, all he does in 2 is beg Nolan not to go nuts while giving glimpses into the insane nature of the marker and it's implications.
Terrible writing,I thought the 'marker' was a strange alien artifact, now replicated by plumbing insane minds..? lame.
Should have remained alien, unique.Keep that helmet on Isaac and keep the current writers away from DS3.
The suit contains the man,the man the madness.Very disappointed with DS2 :(
They diluted the character in the sequel. LOL
