News4Gamers : Website Feedback

Now that the new site has been online for a few days we would like to hear your thoughts. The site is still in beta, so if there is something you like or don’t like about the new site we would like to hear about it now.

We will be working on fixing bugs this week as well as adding a couple of extra features to the site. If you have experienced any problems or maybe you have ideas about how we can make it even better please send all reports and suggestions to [email protected]

(Note: For those who can not access the new site from school or work, a mirror site will be online shortly.)

Its really cool and im glad they kept the simple layout. The small touches are cool like replying to a single comment and the avatars

I think the 'article' cool and lame votes arent working though, every playstation article has loads of lame votes, gimme a break most of the articles are interesting

But its a real cool website, good job!

The only thing that gets annoying is having to click on the article, then click on it again to see the whole thing. Other than that the website is perfect! We need more PS people though, 360 and Wii fans are everywhere!

what happened to BlindMan, bill gates sucks, neutral, ect? even ssj has managed not to get banned. where did they go. BlindMan, come back and lead the sony plight. nice job on the site. it's nice to have all of the different aspects in one place instead of a different site for each platform. conversations for the most part have been a lot more civil. people expressing their opinions decently.

First of all, let me say that this site is great, and that on behalf of all the readers, I would like to say thank you for all the time and effort you and your programmer have put into the site.

1. Onto business. #6 is right in that sometimes, when I hit reply to a person, it gets put as the reply to the last person of the thread, not necessarily under the person of whom you hit "reply."

2. When I leave the site and return, I have to sign in again despite choosing "remember me."

3. #9 and #11 said it well. I like how on the old site clicking "read more" on the main article page took you directly to the article. (With tabs and Fx it was easy to middle click with your mouse the article and comments page for easy browsing.) Now, though, you must click twice to access the article.

everytime i move my mouse over to the site-scrollbar the Rockstar's Table Tennis Ad starts to play because it's in the way... but i don't care :-)

That rockstar banner has to be moved. I catch myself trying to avoid it. Because once you touch it the music goes off then I have to lower my speakers.

Great site few minor details.

Logging in the site does not remember my log in id or my password. Also If you start reading an article before loging in after you log in it takes you to a blank article screen. As well when linking to an article going through multiple (x2) pages is kind of annoying.

this update my have made this the best news site for games...outstanding job.

and now that poeple can not hide behind fake names...the comments are now better debates instead of mindless bashing.

also someone mentioned that "remember me" for log in doesn't work...it is true and my only complaint.

"360 news" to the news that every other site posts. I was drawn here for one reason, I like my sites bios and focused on the system I care about,not this "lets please everyone" way of donig things. However the things done are nice and setup well,with exception to the lame double clicking needed.

so far so good. there's still a lot of fanboy bickering going on here, and some articles seeming to lack authenticity (such as Inquirer's bit about the PS3's CPU and GPU...the whole article reeked of fanboy unprofessionalism...utter unauthentic rubbish) the site seems to be going along quite nicely. though the spam and worthless comments have died a little, they are still persistent. ultimately, i think there should be some sort of moderation on the site. and also, the "cool" "lame" section on the articles needs some attention too. i find it curious that nearly all the PS3 articles are marked as lame (though some of them are quite informative) while just about every 360 article is marked as cool.

I think it can be attributed to the more proactive 360 fans compared to the PS3 ones (PS3 fans - not all of them though)- seem to stay only on the PS3 part whereas I think 360 fans browse both sections of this site.

I argee with you on the cool and lame part. It seems that the sole purpose for some people is to go around and put lame votes on every PS3 article. Oh and the article for Forza 2( of course had more cool votes)said the trailer they used for E3 contained "in game assets". Um, ok so does that mean it's real or not. If that was a PS3 article most of you know how that "phrase" would have flied on the comment section. It's interesting to read the comments for that article. If you haven't read it you should go check it out.
