the best rpg of 2011 is opinion and any site that would add bias to that isnt worth the time of day

sp1deynut4810d ago

If you feel so strongly that Skyrim WON'T be the best RPG of 2011, then by all means, tell us what WILL be.

And BTW...don't forget to leave bias and opinion out of your answer...FACTS ONLY. You wouldn't want to look like a fool and/or a hypocrite, now would you? :o

R2D24810d ago

Define RPG? Because LA Noire is coming out this year and role playing is involved.

@ Stealth20k and Sp1deynut

Stealth, sp1deynut just owned you. Yes, owned, publicly.

Sorry, my comment was a mistake

but with me its a bit different i don't like these old swords style rpg's.

with me its ME3 and if Dues-ex comes out in 2011 which i don't think will happen. if you ask me i say ME3 will even be delayed till 2012 i don't know why i just have a feeling its gonna happen and not only to these 2 games but other big titles as well. just because fall 2011 is too big to happen in one fall lol

ME3 has a better chance to come out in 2011 but i think dues-ex from what i have read is having some trouble just because its trying to do so many things

i don't mind waiting if the end result means better game

Is looking awesome, day one buy for me.

PS3Freak4810d ago

I am very excited for this. Looks great.

I can't wait for Skyrim but looking at those screens also makes me anticipate the next Fallout as well. Imagine if New Vegas looked that good, now we just have to see how it actually plays...

SonyRep4810d ago

it means its going to be one of the best games ever made! god i love the elder scrolls games.....

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast13d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22913d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko13d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave13d ago (Edited 13d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
