Gamespot: Two years ago, Swedish games programmer Markus Persson walked out of the development studio where he’d spent the last four years of his life making free-to-play flash games, went back to his apartment, and created Minecraft. His impulse was guided by the simple notion that game developers should only make games they care about. Less than two years since its release, Minecraft has been purchased by over 1 million people around the world. There are over half a million YouTube videos dedicated to the sandbox building game, numerous 24-hour live streams, and over 3 million registered online community members. Not bad for one guy.
Mojang announced the release date for the latest Game Drop for Minecraft and a significant visual upgrade for the Bedrock Edition.
Today, Mojang revealed the next Game Drop coming soon to its ultra-popular survival crafting game Minecraft, titled "Chase the Sky."

I can't support organizations that hate me and my family. Anyway, before I left, the owner of the Charger's made the them irrelevant by moving them. This decision turned the team into a dime store coffee mug... I would assume they are still irrelevant today.
We'll look back at this generation as the introduction of people, who otherwise wouldn't even think about creating a game, be able to pursue just that.
The implementation of games like LBP and Minecraft, as well as smaller-budget studios like Double Fine and thatgamecompany are, personally, this generation's most successful achievements.
iOS is one of the best things to happen for indies as well as a new focus for those whom left large studios to become independant.

Go Gamers!!!
Indie games making money? Uh oh... Activision is going to swoop in and buy the devs, and next year we'll be playing World of Minecraft with a $15 monthly fee with no semblance of sandbox gameplay.
