Nintendo’s European 3DS pricing decision sparks a retailer price war

3DSTribe writes: "As we all likely know by now, the decision announced at Nintendo’s 3DS press conference in Amsterdam that the Nintendo 3DS’s UK/EU price would be set by the retailers – thereby bypassing the need for an RRP – was one that wasn’t met with too much acclaim – especially when the general price then for the system was hovering around £220-230...

...However, while we thought the lack of an RRP may lead to far more hardware bundles (which it has) – especially with retailers seemingly only hovering around the £220-230, as Nintendo’s Dawn Paine mentioned in a response to Metro Gamecentral – it’s also sparked a price war among retailers as we further move towards the launch of Nintendo’s latest system."
