Guitar Hero DLC Easing Up on Censorship?

Ever since the beginning of the Guitar Hero series, the titles (save for Band Hero) have owned up to an ESRB rating of “T for Teen” based on the lyrical content of the songs. Until now, the downloadable content has all followed that same basic guideline.

With the release of the February Mega Pack, which was heavy on the modern metal and the obscene, it appears as though the censorship has taken a more lackadaisical approach.

That's pretty hilarious having to deal with the inconsistency of the language content. I think it's appropriate though. Since video games and music are both expressive art forms, then the censorship should be all but completely lifted.

Some countries still censor music like Australia they have age gates for music and ban some CDs from importing. America has uncensored and censored music. IDK about Europe.

Wow, they really left the curse words in there? This has been a pet peeve with me for a while. RB is pretty good, but GH is inconsistent as hell, sometimes within the same game.

Now get some Steel Panther DLC and I'll start telling people that Warriors of Rock is worth buying.

SingStar had a song (My Chemical Romance - Teenagers) that had the word "Shit" in it :/

BShea4850d ago

Which is strange, since "Shit" was censored when that same song was DLC for Guitar Hero II.

More kids play GH than SingStar?

Well one would generally think that Guitar Hero is viewed as the "edgier" of the two franchises.

Another L for Xbox, when are they going to have good news?

MrDead11d ago

I would read the article but the giant pop-ups from the top and bottom of the screen made me close it.

Without reading $23.4 million isn't a deterrent for a company that size.
