World Premiere Trailer for PS3 Exclusive Title Replika

DualShockers: As we promised yesterday, we now have for you the world premiere trailer for Replika, the new action/strategy title from Biodroid, which will be coming exclusively to the PlayStation Network. Up until this point, we haven’t heard a whole lot about it, but we do know that it will feature stereoscopic 3D. I’m personally a huge fan of the “cyberpunk” aesthetic the game has going on, so I’m quite looking forward to getting a glimpse of it. I saw all of Ergo proxy and twas interesting @ first, but as the episodes went on, it dragged and failed to make any sense.

But that Replika girl did remind me of Riel from Ergo Proxy.

Yeah, it seems to drag on, but each episode subtly (or not-so-subtly) provides an analogous event to ancient Greek philosophies, so I appreciated it for that.

Also, the art style is very reminiscent of Ghost in the Shell too.

Lets see what we can get out of this one anyway though. Just for kicks.

Storyline amnesia based, as said. Pirate type music playing during the part of it that had a flying flag may indicate pirates as some main story feature. The few scenes at the end looked kind of cyberpunk. Also the girl looked to be using some kind of energy powers. Lastly the name Replika indicates that the game will be based around something that copies are made from.

With all that in mind I think this game will be a third or first person (probably third to show off the female lead) stealth based action adventure game. Set in a cyberpunk universe where your character is female android or genetically designed clone (probably an android) maybe both.
She will be mostly based around a thief but will have some energy powers that are used to elevate the action. The main character will probably find out that she's a prototype or special version or something which will effect her profoundly sending her off on a journey of self discovery and heroism. The overarching plot will probably be about freeing or in some way liberating or saving the other replikants who will be slaves or prisoners or in death camps or something.

Who wants to bet I'm pretty right? If they had any astounding new and fresh gameplay features they would show them in the trailer. Unless it's something they did by accident and aren't aware of.
