In general, yes they do. It's not the rule, though.

Aladdin and Lion King were awesome. Also I thought Toy Story 3 was a really great game overall. And I know you all will chatise me but I rented Where the Wild Things Are, and I thought it had a very ICO feel to it. I personally thought it was the poor man's ICO, and would give it a 7.5 for having such a great world and interesting setup to a great movie.

I loved those games on the SNES. I wish that quality was present in more recent games, especially super hero games. You would think with better hardware that the games would be epic, but too often they come up short.

zireno4976d ago

It's not hardware problem. Movie games suck because they usually have very short development time and not a lot of budget to begin with. Back in the SNES era games were developed much faster and the costs were nowhere near what today games are.

leftybrown4976d ago

I think it's hard for a game company to make a dynamic move game and published by the films release date....but there are certain things that a movie game SHOULD have namely principle actors from movie lending their talents.

ChickeyCantor4976d ago

However,
I do think they could plan this their stuff better.
They know they are gonna make a movie, so why not let the developers be in on before the movie production actually go in?

If this is the case, LOL @ Fail.

Aladdin on the Megadrive is the only one that I've really liked. It only took them 3 months to make. Alien 3 on the Megadrive was fairly good even though it bore little relation to the film except for the central character. It was a game that mainly seemed based on Aliens basically with the up to date Alien3 title added on, which makes it just a cash in really. I suppose that making a game with no guns and just one live alien wasn't on Acclaim's agenda.

ITLoo4976d ago

I like your thinking. The time frame for making these games hasn't changed which is sad. I wish more developers would spend more time on these games instead of slopping them together.

Orionsangel4976d ago

They suck because all the famous developers and programmers are working on awesome original titles. While movie games get up and coming programmers. TEAM D!

force unleashed is a great game. Thankfully the 360 version is bc on the XBO/Series. It looks and plays even better than on original hardware.

A true classic. Recently I was experimenting with injecting ray tracing into this game using nvidia’s SSRTGI. The results were pretty slick!
