Critical Gamer writes: EXT. NIGHT. Birds-eye view of a rural town.
Camera slowly pulls in and levels out; an unremarkable street in an unremarkable town. View swoops up and into the first floor window of a house, almost indistinguishable from the others. A visibly excited young man – a NOOB to the MMO genre – puts his new DC Universe Online disc into his PS3.
CUT TO: Time lapse footage of a clock recording several hours as the necessary files are downloaded and installed. Footage slows, then returns to normal speed.
QUICK PAN TO: NOOB pondering server selection.
NOOB: Hmm… all low or medium population. PvP… that means you can fight other players, right? I’ll go for that. Should be great fun!

WTMG's Thomas Medina: "As far as I’m concerned, console MMOs have always been in a weird place. PC is where the main game is most popular. MMOs were born there, work best there, and have the vast majority of titles. Mobile is then next in line, with touchscreens and portability that adds something new while functioning well. Console gaming, on the other hand, is not portable (for the most part). Plus, it uses a controller, which is not the best instrument when your control scheme requires a thousand buttons and a cursor. That being said, there is an audience, and where there’s money to be made, publishers find a way. So here we are with some of the biggest console MMO games and how I feel they handled 2021. "
From Xfire: "A lot of video games are designed to make players feel like a superhero. However, very few actually feature superheroes or have players take on the role of a superhero. What makes this even worse is that there are even fewer superhero video games that can be considered good."
Think I'll pass on DC Universe for now
Nice way to write a review tho
Wonder how busy the PS3 version will be three months down the line?
WTF has a film script got anything to do with a review about about Comic Book characters?
An unreadable review, with an arbitrary score, brilliant.
@scruffy
Umm, he didn't review the game. He tweeted about how he sucked for 10 lvls. Sensationalist, just by the "look at me" style it's written in.
It is quite good and it's on PC AND PS3, so it's not an exclusive the way you're thinking about it. No way this superhero game is worse than all the X-Men Legends, Ultimate Alliances, Spider-mans (Ultimate or Shattered) and inFamous/Prototypes out there. That's how you can tell it's another bull review.
He played to lvl 10 and only as a villain. You only unlock your specials (tank, healer, controller) for the 1st time at 10 lol and he thinks he can judge a whole game with twin campaigns just on that fraction and getting pwned in PvP! Aw. his feelings were hurt, and instead of talking about the game objectively he seeks to get even by writing a whole rant Twitter style for some clever-to-only-him reaso. Did not even ATTEMPT PvE because he only wanted to import his charachter and refused to make another, despite the fact it's a DIFFERENT SERVER. And PvE at that. This is what passes for professional these days? Pathetic. Might as well say you refused to review Dead Space 2 online because it required a separate EA online code/account.
This is one stupid review. Is it suppose 2 be funny or something.
