In this article they compared the graphics between Killzone 3 and Killzone 2. Which PS3 exclusive looks better? Check it out!
Crysis 2 on consoles can't touch Killzone 2 let alone 3.
Killzone 3 looks so much better than Killzone 2, Killzone 2 looks so much better than Crysis 2.
2/22/11 Clear your calendars
Damn there are a lot of butthurt people on N4G. loI love it! http://youtu.be/owzhYNcd4OM Comparing a PC title to a console game is freaking hilarious. How do these butthurt gamers spell desperation? C R Y S I S haha And Killzone 2 still can't be matched by any title on Xbox so what the hell are you laughing at exactly? lmao!
isn't the 3rd picture really backwards? the top is 2 and the bottom is 3, at least that's what they showed it as on that site with the 1 vs 2 vs 3 comparison btw i love the way 3 looks, but it just doesn't feel as dark and gritty as 1 and 2, idk i guess i'll have to play the singleplayer before i can't say
read few reviews you fool, it's a new visual benchmark.
far from a benchmark: it looks exactly like the 2. LOL
BS - The textures are much better and the colors are finer and brighter. And even if it would like part it would still be one of the best looking games around.
hornyhaggis you sir, are a Fool.
Bunch of butt hurt fanboys trying to make Killzone 3 look bad to sooth their pain.
KZ3 looks better than Crysis 2 on consoles. Plain and simple.
stunning graphics. But as it turns out the game is suffering from average reviews. 85% metacritic oh dear. 88% metacritic Black Ops ( Game hated by PS fanboys apprantly )
Average=70%-80%. Are you a high school dropout? :(
Just shows how bias media can be a sub HD game..laggy,random disconnects, graphics that COD4 trumps a 4 year old game... Like IGNs review of COD:BlackOps http://www.ign.com/videos/2... And Killzone 3 http://www.ign.com/videos/2... Watch both videos to the end 2 negatives for BlackOps VS Killzone3 1 negative yet they get the same score...+ no mentioning of Co-Op which everyone had a problem with KZ2..
@HornyHaggis care to show us all some ps3 footage of crysis 2 to compare? oh yeah you can't.
Another German article, another article featuring the word "stunning" in it's title.
Looking the same ... if not labelled, people could not say which one is the 2 and the 3
The differences are not that big at all. And it would not be because its the same engine as KZ2 just optimized more. KZ3 has a far better color palate this time around and some more lighting but otherwise its almost the same as KZ2. This will be the same thing for Gears 3. It looks the same as Gears 2 with a bit more lighting and color. Why? Same engine as Gears 2.
3x more polygons High resolution textures More objects on screen Texture-streaming Huge areas.
It looks almost the same simply because it uses the same engine as the last game but opitimzed. This also applies to Gears 3, ME2 and even Halo Reach. If a game uses the same game engine for the most part in its sequel, there wont be a huge difference other than a few tweaks and lighting differences and textures. The one exception I can think of is Uncharted 2 where the differences from the first Uncharted to the second was big. "No, it does look better to me. Is it a big jump? No, but it is a nice sized improvement. Less jaggies, better textures, etc." That's exactly what I am saying. It looks better but its not a big jump as some people on this site wish it was. It looks almost the same with more polish/optimization. Saying that KZ2/3 is still one of the best looking games around.
No, it does look better to me. Is it a big jump? No, but it is a nice sized improvement. Less jaggies, better textures, etc.
You forgot to add: Real Dynamic Lighting SSAO Object Motion Blur MLAA wesley-dw
@yewles1 There is no SSAO, at least not in the beta I just played all last night. It's baked in. Also odd, there was a side screen blur in killzone 2 to make it look like it was doing DOF, but now its completely gone. And also, unless it is because it was beta, textures on enemies and weapons were great, but some walls and cabinets and railings and floors (it was 50/50) had the lowest resolution textures I have ever seen.
^Above. Killzone 2 already had Object motionblur, SSAO, and dynamic lights
Sorry, but the first PS3 title with SSAO was UC2, the original 4D rendering engine in Killzone 2 couldn't handle proper lighting or random shadows (their first attempt), and no how fast you moved, nothing blurred (even Guerrilla devs themselves talked about adding the effect in this one). This is a MUCH bigger jump than most people think it is. Edit: Before anyone complains, 4D rendering = Defferred rendering.
@wesley-dw Almost all games have dynamic lights. I think you are talking about deferred lighting, where you can have ALOT more dynamic lights. Also, KZ2 had no SSAO and from the beta I just played of KZ3, no SSAO still, just nicely pre-baked AO.
Stop telling me that things are "Stunning" or "Epic" or "Mind-blowing" or that it "Will blow you away" or "You won't believe it".
Those words must be preserved for a Clint Eastwood moment.
Didnt see your post, finally I dont feel like the only one.
I'll admit Im hooked on Killzone3's Multiplayer at the moment .. so much fun .. feels so good to play it .. and I also enjoyed Crysis 2's multiplayer a lot .. I'll have both thanks Killzone's looks reminds me of uncharted kinda look.. Crysis 2 sometimes looks photorealistic .. the visuals are so sick both games are day one purchase without a doubt .. ok back to kz3 guerrilla Warfare mode
OMG stop with that word! While we are at it retire the word "epic" as well.
LOL I applaud KZ makers for creating KZ2 and KZ3.. making a fictional and atmospheric visuals for the game. It's far from being photorealistic like Crysis (or Crysis 2). BUT, creating such is a feat itself.. something "artificial" yet looking so fantastic and amazing (different planet, different "atmoshpere"). Guess what, it's even on a 4+ year old hardware (at least)! At least people who enjoy visuals have the option: something more "artistic" (KZ 2/3) or something more "photorealistic" (Crysis 1/2). The choice is yours. :)
