Seven Deadly Health Warnings

A news story making the rounds is focusing on California congressmen Joe Baca's recent introduction of a "Video Game Health Labeling Act". Basically he thinks that the ESRB is doing a lousy job. So in the same way that the surgeon general's warning on cigarettes has halted all under-aged smoking, a warning label that says "WARNING: Excessive exposure to violent video games and other violent media has been linked to aggressive behavior" has to be a sure solution.

I kinda think all congressmen should have to have tattoo's saying "Warning: Excessive exposure to congressmen and other politicians has been linked to verbal bs".

Seriously? I've seen --what I think are-- French game covers and they have these big red stickers on them with warning messages.

Video games have enough of these "warnings" as it is, I don't even know what this guy expects will happen if he's allowed to slap a sticker on the cover with an unnecessary warning message:

"WARNING: Video games will cause your children to steal, kill and think angry thoughts. Do not purchase this game."
