‘If it Ain’t Broke, Don’t Fix it’ – Crystal Dynamics Talk Tomb Raider Trilogy With NAGF

I am really looking forward to the new Tomb Raider. This was a nice interview. I am glad the team is excited and confident that they are creating something fresh and fun. I can't wait to see more about the game.

I'm also very excited to play the remastered Tomb Raider collection.

Why has Lara, or Drake, never got a whip?

I seriously, c'mon, aside from being cool as, it would be a great gameplay mechanic.

And it should have 2 "fire" modes, one for the sake of just striking an object or enemies, and the second as a grappling device, for swinging or catching people around the next and then throwing the end into a ceiling fan or hitching it to car or something.

What, is it just me?

For some reason, I can't imagine Drake being the kind of guy who knows how to use a whip. Why would he bother with a difficult-to-use whip when he can just shoot somebody instead? :D

And whips can't really be used as grappling devices, so that'd take away some of the realism Uncharted is going for.
