Handheld Games Are Too Expensive

MMGN: The 3DS and NGP should easily overshadow the gaming services provided on smart phones like the iPhone and Android. However, the price of games is going to be a major factor. Being in Australia is part of my problem, as our costs are not justified in the current financial state of the world. The same Ridge Racer game that is listed to cost $80 here, is $40 on GameStop’s website, and our dollars are basically at parity. Perhaps then, my gripe with the high cost of handheld games is a distinctly Australian issue. We’re used to getting ripped off, it’s been happening since the dawn of (gaming) time, but as the RRP of a handheld game hits the price I paid for Call of Duty: Black Ops, cheap iOS games are becoming more enticing by the day.

The story is too old to be commented.
